Currently, towns can be renamed an unlimited number of times, making it difficult to keep track of which one is which. Therefore, I suggest we have the ability to inspect the previous names of towns.
A new screen could appear when you click on a town's name in /c ranks that shows all the previous names the town had. If we clicked on each name, we could see when and who changed it.
