Suggestion Access to Unobtainable Blocks in the Latest Version – Biome Islands Proposal

Hi,
You probably already know what most of my suggestions are about—builder issues. Don’t take this the wrong way, but are we seriously supposed to just sit and wait for a future update to magically drop these biomes from the sky? We need a proper way to obtain the currently unobtainable blocks introduced in the latest version.

This is a server I genuinely enjoy building on, but it's getting exhausting to constantly hear: “that block isn’t available anymore,” or “this one can’t be used now.” It kills creativity and motivation.

If needed, I can create individual biome islands for you—custom-made, well-designed, and beautiful. You could then add them into the world as optional islands or resource areas. But something has to be done. Please consider this seriously.

Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work.

And I used an English translation, so I'm sorry if I made a sentence that could cause misunderstanding.

+1 the new NPC vendors somewhat improved things for the blocks they sell but overall this should be better still. Just sell them at high price for people who really want to use the blocks before its biomes are released.

If you're interested in helping develop new content, you can apply for a developer role here.

But to answer more directly, your idea of "biome islands" is literally how new content is intended to be released. However, the major difference in design philosophy (and the reason we don't churn these out as soon as each new update releases) is that we only make permanent, lasting additions to Loka. Temporary hot fixes like an island whipped up in a week would not be something we'd want to add, largely because it's a waste of time and effort that could have just gone into the intended implementation of the new biome.

While it does suck having to wait for new features, the wait is usually warranted. For example, people waited over 5 years for the ocean update, but their level of quality exceeds almost any other world-painted project on the server.

Tl;Dr we prioritize:
  • Quality > Quantity
  • Longer Waits > Rushed Features.

nether update that came about 5 years ago was not properly added to the loka, but the cherry biome or mangrove biome was added quickly, it would be good if the same care was taken for nether.

it would not be a wise move to spend that much money for the build

Actually, I applied as a builder and got accepted, but in a rather unusual way, nobody asked me to do anything. I only had gamemode permissions on the server, most of the plugins I needed weren't available, and there were no custom worlds to build in either. But as I said, above all, no one requested anything from me.

I recently tried to log back into the build server, and it turns out my access was removed. I’ll be returning actively around May 6-7, so if you need anything built, feel free to reach out—because you kinda added me to the build server and then completely forgot about me hahaha.

If it's too cheap, the addition of the actual area will be lackluster because people won't care as much about grinding the new resources, and everyone will already have stockpiles because they can buy it cheaply.

There has to be a balance / drawback to "Early Access" to resources not yet added properly.

A lot of progress has been made on the Nether behind the scenes but do keep in mind it is a way bigger project. Instead of just making one biome we have to take on all of the biomes introduced in the Nether Update and make them all sick looking.
