No secret alliances at all. Like how all towns are shown on the website regardless of /g private, so shall Alliances.

Yes, though in that specific update, probably only Town total levels, any sublevel stuff (which won't be public) will probably come later, in addition to a town gallery.

Would alliances be able to be dissolved easily?

You can join and leave alliance as well as add and remove towns from then (as an Alliance leader) as easily as you can add members.

How will the chests work when an alliance dissolves. Would the town that placed the items be able to pull the items back out of the chests or would the chest lock the items in? Might want to avoid coding that would cause ,when the chests unlink, dooping or deleting the items. I.E. when the chests unlink, the contents of the chests are able to be pulled out by both towns without effecting the other towns chest.

If an alliance dissolves, the contents of the embassy chests are lost. This is fine, because for the most part, embassy chests are meant to be used for trading, not really storage; hence why they are single-chests.
