Suggestion Armor Customization

I know, I know, two threads in a row?

I came up with this idea while writing the soulbound thread but unfortunately I realized this idea can't be soulbound. And armor brought into battle would have to be able to be dropped otherwise it would be OP.

The idea here is to allow players to basically customize their armor a bit more. As of now, everyone goes into battle wearing the exact same thing. Imagine if you could have customized armor that allows you to stand out a bit more. Even more, imagine if an entire town had a certain way tehy customized their armor and came to battle dressed in a special set of armor. I believe this would be a very cool cosmetic addition to the server. It could be a paid perk on not either could work. (Perhaps a paid perk attached to a town itself instead of a player?)

So here is how it could be implemented. You have a zombie head that wish your diamond enchated helm looked like. Using either a special item or perhaps a normal anvil, you can add them together. Basically giving the zombie head all the qualities of the armor. Now this idea could work for all heads but also for other types of armor. Want to go into battle looking like you're wearing iron instead of diamond? You can do that. Want to go in wearing colored leather armor to reflect your towns colors? You can do that.

The idea gets a bit more vague when discussing other items. I'd like to hear some other idea on other items that could work.

Now, I know a bit complaint would be that now you can't tell what your opponent is wearing into battle. Good point! So I believe a subtle particle effect around personalized items should be used. This way you can tell if the armor they are wearing is not what it appears to be. This doesn't tell you exactly what it is, but you can probably guess. And if they were to hand it to you, it should show you exactly what it is.

What do you guys think? Want to see customizable armor in the future?

Great idea (hoping it would be easy to code).

Our battles would be cool if players had to pick a side before it started somehow, and one side's armor would be temporarily the color of either the attacking or defending town (might be better as not a perk).

I guess the only problem I really see with it, is deceiving and confusing players. If you see a guy in the wilds wearing just leather and you have a full set of iron thinking you can easily kill him. Then he crushes you because it's actually god tier armour disguised as leather. This will cause newer players to rage quit and call hacks since some guy wielding what looks like a stick can kill you in 2 hits.

Well, we could have some sort of warning for other players before they go out in the wilds...

WARNING: Players with partial effects around them could be very dangerous! Armor is able to be transmogrified to look like leather, gold, or even iron armor sets! Swords are also able to be transmogrified to look stone, wooden, gold, or iron! When anything on the player is transmogrified the player gives off a distinct particle effect!

I agree with both. The confusion can be lowered with particles. The only problem: The new player may have particles disabled.

The way I see it, anyone you approach could be deceiving you by simply holding their armor in their inventory. And in reality how often would you approach anyone to try and kill them unless you have full prot diamond armor? Never, you'd run away.

Assuming its still iffy, its possible to just look at certain parts of this. Why not just allow the idea for helmets? You'd still be able to clearly tell someone has diamond armor but they still get to have a custom helmet. Alternatively, particle effects on armor. So instead of particles effect to alert players of custom armor, particle effects would actually become the customization.
