In times like today, when there's a Beta test for something, or whenever there's any major event, outage, bug, something or other. What's the best way that you like to be informed? How do you get your Loka news the fastest?

I'd like to figure out what system to best use to alert the largest quantity of you guys in the quickest way so you guys can be alerted about stuff and stay up to date about the most important news about Loka.

I would say, forums, but I also had an idea of having towns put up a mailbox or something in the middle of there town, and you could make a book and copy whatever news you have into it.

I'm talking about out-of-minecraft alerts. Those of you who have smartphones, tablets, for example, could get an email, or a twitter update or something that would tell you something important. In-game announcements can just be done via console.

If it's a quick announcement, Skype would be best to get most people's attention, because I'll get an alert that I got a message on skype, but I'll have to watch the forums for any new threads. Combo of both would be good though... with a set time a few hours from now.

That's a lot of work.

Well then, I prefer either, Twitter, or Forums. Because in skype, i get lots of messages and dont get a chance to read the most important message. I'm always on Twitter, so yeah probably Twitter.

Skype's only good if you're in the big conversation, and I don't have everybody's Skype information is my only beef with that. I figure email might be best. IMO it should probably be something people can subscribe to. So I could send out a mass email via the forums.

I vote Email too to say the title what is going or has happened, that links to forums thread explaining what happened and smaller information...

I'm pretty sure most of the dellsmite group doesn't have twitter. So i can be the one that gets the message then FWD it into the Dellsmite call.

Yeah, I'm just gonna use the forum email option. Just sent out a test email and it went out to 163 people. Gonna be the best bet, and I'll do fancy formatting for the beta test announcement as well.

I say a privately registered cell phone number would be the most real-time method. This would let anyone know at any time of day that something is going on. Email, twitter, or Facebook could take exponentially longer to see a notification from than a text.

Well, and me? I live outside the USA. That means Cryp would have to pay alot, just to notify me? noo... Email/forums (maybe ... twitter) should do just fine
