I think that bow boosting is a really cool mechanic and that has been seen used before on earlier versions, on 1.17 it's very much possible to do but hard enough so that most people can't always do it consistently ( like u could've in earlier versions ). A lot of people tend to not bow boost nowadays is because A: a bow takes up 2 valuable slots in their inventory ( arrow included) and also because of the damage u take, when u shoot yourself with a bow u take 2-3 hearts of damage putting you at a severe disadvantage at anyone you fight. I think a cool feature would be to reduce the damage you take when you shoot yourself by maybe 50% or so to make bow boosting viable again.

Bow Boosting will now do 2.5 hearts of True Damage
  • We recognize that Bow Boosting, while still possible, does heavily favor people of great skill, but also great ping. Even more problematic is how much it renders Ender Pearls (specifically Loka's long cooldown on using them) inert. If somebody is particularly skilled at bow-boosting, they can flee or attack with great ease, not having to worry about pearling very much.
  • We never wanted to completely remove boosting, but we believe the best approach to keep it was to make it a calculated risk to use. We wanted it to be predictable damage, so you can judge when to bow-boost without worrying about some sort of accidental self-crit (which would be a good meme though), hence the true damage.
  • As a reminder, True Damage ignores all armor/enchants/etc. Note/remember that all Conquest damage (golems/core attacks/modules/etc) is true damage, so this is a usual behavior.
  • This only applies to shooting yourself with a bow/arrow (just to be clear)
This was implemented in December 2019

tbh bow boosting would be good if it was un-nerfed cause all that people do now is run away so being able to catch up quickly instead of constantly pearling would be nice.

I think bow boosting will have its pros and cons if it gets un-nerfed/made it easier to use

cons/bad
- Players who have a bow will chase players who don't have a bow a lot faster/easier
- if both players have a bow (chased and chaser) they'll both be bow boosting forever

pros/good
- a lot easier to kite from 10v1 if you have a bow and the others don't
- easier to catch up to a player you're chasing if they don't have a bow

but that's just my opinion

It exists but is really impractical, some of the damage at least should be reduced so it is easier for people who can do it regularly

before the 2.5 heart stuff it was literally only bow boosting all over the place and it was stupid so i say no

I bow boost into the epic parkour or someone's town.
2-1.5 hearts per shot but i think what supa means is that you really cant bowboost rn
Health arrows exist. SmiGuy and Unallowed used to use health arrows but it's become obsolete.
