Hey gamers!!!!!

The nether has been a place where we all gather materials for potions and over the past few updates it has been harder to gather these resources. The dreadfort was added which is a interesting idea however it has nerfed farming of supplies. The nether no longer spawns blaze rods outside of the dreadfort, this makes farming blaze rods very difficult and its a grueling task as the blazes drop 1-2 rods per kill. Along with this, the mobs do lots of damage to your armor as there are also pigmen and magma cubes.
Zombie pigmen have also been altered. They spawn in dozens and if you hit one your nether endeavors may end quickly. The old spawns which had lots of ghasts, blazes, and other mobs was much better for farming. It encourages people to farm in groups of more than 1 which is what the Loka PvP Network is all about :). The dreadfort rarely sees any pvp because no one goes there anymore due to the low mob drops, as in the past there have been many videos uploaded with nether fights. With Loka getting more and more players each day, potion materials become more scarce as time goes on.

I agree with Archer. At the moment it literally takes 20-30 mins to get a stack of blaze rods and with all these big fights (&school) , there is no way anyone can spend that much time to gather these mats :(

I haven't grinded for blaze rods in a long time but assuming HeyDood is right, 20-30 minutes to get enough blaze powder for over 7 double chests of strength potions really doesn't seem bad at all. For reference, one of the most expensive recent fights for potions was this one two weeks ago. In total, 3500 potions were used, 687 of which were strength potions. This means that 404 blaze powder was used to brew all these potions (175 in fuel and 229 in strength). At 30 minutes per stack of blaze rods, 95 minutes worth of blaze grinding was spent on a huge, expensive 67-player fight and the largest in months.

You're telling me that an alliance that can field 30 players in a fight can't spend less than a single man hour to grind for it?

It's possible we may increase the drop rate of blaze rods inside the dreadfort slightly but wont be having blazes spawn out in the open. Like Skuhoo's post above stated, once you break down the numbers, you see it's not very difficult to gather the required resources for a large town or alliance. Especially considering the number of members they have.

TBF, this is just blaze powder taken into consideration. 3 people in the nether for 30 minutes and gathered a total of ≈ 10 ghast tears and GP. While there are multiple ways of getting GP like farming creepers in the wild (which is the better option currently given the spawn rates) there is only that single way to get ghast tears. Not sure if it is all the pigmen eating up spawns or not but there still just seems to be an issue of ghasts not spawning nearly enough.

Unless the next custom item is a Regen Stone that gives permanent regen while in being held :p

I don't think it is, I went there recently and after killing over 100 pigmen I still had only seen like 3 ghasts.

Its great that you guys are thinking about increasing the drop rates ! I also wanted to mention that the statistics that I gave were from the time when I had double loot. So it would take twice as much time (40+ mins) to get that stack of rods that I was talking about.

Also sku I agree with your analysis. But we need to grind for other resources like gunpowder, gold, glowstone , ancient ingots etc. And like Pear mentioned, ghasts dont even spawn so we cant make regen. As far as I know, Even people in cov are using their supplies from the past. So pls make the buff BIG.

Keep in mind that the buff isn't double loot. It's a 50% chance at double loot, which works out to a 50% increase. I feel my point still stands though, as a giant alliance should have no problem affording giant fights and everyone else doesn't use enough to be a problem. We have industries, resource isles, and bountiful territories spitting out massive amounts of resources essentially for free. It's going to get to a point where players don't actually have to play the game anymore. We can look at ghast spawn rates (which should also never be a viable source of gunpowder) but overall just don't be lazy minemen.

from my experience with grinding in the dreadfort the spawn rate isn't that bad at all, I was able to get a stack every morning relatively quickly (that being said this is GMT timezone meaning there was only American night owls or other brits on, 1-4 people usually)
