Here's the dilemma. Currently, Capital is earned merely by successful Conquest play. This really awards the rich and pvp-capable. We're not going to delve into what we're thinking yet, but we thought we'd open up a thread for you guys to throw some ideas out there.

We want earning Capital to be a measure of successes on multiple fronts, PvE, Economy/Trade, War, etc. Knowing that baseline idea, what do you think earning Capital should entail?
 
You should account for how developed the town is, like how strong their walls or how quality their builds are.
 
An election would be fun, but maybe there should be some threshold that one has to pass in the above-mentioned areas to qualify (PvE, Economy/Trade, War, etc.). And service to the community. Could that be quantified? What could it entail?
  • Helping on the Wiki and the website
  • Maybe number of votes on those websites could be factored in
  • In-game help to other players (no idea how to measure this)
Are we going with a world capital, or with continent capitals, as previously discussed?

If you do separate earning the capital from conquest, then there should maybe be some other end goal of conquest: special perks? Some sort of traveling trophy? Something else to indicate status? I'm grasping here, but, damn, the conquest battles would heat up if there were something big that everyone wanted. But what?
 
I think their should be 4 different towns that have the title of capital. Through territories and pvp the capital of each continent would be decided. Basically the same thing as last map but having the territory fights on your continent alone. This would create 3 continental capitals which could make policies based on the resources specific to the continent. The main Loka capital should be decided through votes alone. The way you get these votes could be influenced by a number of things such as trade, economy, town, personality and a bunch of other things. This idea would give pvpers a chance to be capital while also having another element tied into it.

Wolf brings up a really good point here and that is incentives for being a capital.

Be honest, be selfish. What do you want to be able to do as a Capital? If you could literally do anything once you got Capital, what would it be?
