Loka Content Developer Application
Loka Content Developers are the creative minds working behind the scenes to bring thrilling quests, immersive mobs, stunning terrain, key locations, unique NPC skins, and custom textures to life. They craft immersive quest storylines and engaging exploration content for the world of Loka—all without requiring any programming expertise.Interested in joining the team? Submit a single Content Developer application and specify which role(s) align with your interests and skills. The development team collaborates closely and is managed on a project-by-project basis, with roles dynamically assigned based on your interests and skills. While Loka does set a high standard for its content, a great deal of creative freedom is allotted to the Development Team, and we are always eager to welcome more talented individuals to join the team!
REQUIREMENTS
- Be an active and trusted member of the Loka Community.
- Be prepared to spend multiple hours per week working on content development.
- Meet the requirements outlined for each role and submit the required information for each on the application.
DUTIES & CONDUCT
- Dedicate time each week to Loka content development.
- Meet project deadlines and maintain professionalism.
- Keep all work confidential until officially released.
- Ensure all content is original—plagiarism or misuse of others' work is not tolerated.
AVAILABLE ROLES
The currently available development team roles can be found below. While we do look for a wide range of skills for each role, know that these are not absolute requirements. We are always eager to welcome Content Developers to the team, so if you are at all interested in applying, please consider doing so!
Quest Designer
Quest Designers create quests using Loka’s custom quest system.- Quest Designers will become familiar with quest objectives, NPCs, display entities, custom items, and instances.
- Applicants ideally have experience with town quests, a technical mindset, strong attention-to-detail, and problem-solving skills.
Dialogue Writer
Dialogue Writers write character dialogue and story beats for quests.- Applicants ideally have a strong proficiency in English grammar.
- Desirable (not compulsory) skills for applicants include a strong grasp of storytelling, character development, and worldbuilding.
Mob Developer
Mob Developers write Mythic Mob Scripts for quests.- Applicants ideally have experience writing Mythic Mob Scripts and provide evidence of previous Mythic Mobs they have written in their application.
Artist
Artists create NPC skins, custom textures, and resource pack assets.- Applicants ideally have experience with texture or Minecraft skin creation.
Builder
Builders use Creative Mode, WorldEdit, and Axiom to construct key locations, schematics, display entity decorations, and quest instances.- Applicants ideally provide a portfolio of previous builds they have made in their application.
- Desirable (not compulsory) skills for applicants include experience with WorldEdit and Axiom.
World Builder
World Builders create new biomes and terrain for Loka.- Applicants ideally provide proof of past work using WorldPainter that matches the standard of Loka terrain.
- Desirable (not compulsory) skills for applicants include experience with World Machine, Gaea, and Blender.
