Demote any inactive staff, Unless they do behind the scenes work

There are currently a ton of people trying to get Sentry/Guardian at the moment. I feel that it’s pointless given that we have tons of “sTaFF meMbeRs” already. That being said, if we want/need more staff, we should be able to demote the inactive ones, if they have no probable cause of inactivity. Of course not all staff is inactive, or they do stuff behind the scenes. But is it necessary to keep all STAFF on the STAFF TEAM. Especially with new people requesting to be staff?

Some people have to sometimes step away due to real-life issues. Something out of their hand and they can't control things what that happens. If a staff member finds themselves in that situation they should be able to step back up without any real repercussions just cause that's unfair otherwise.
It's very much a case by case scenario so placing strict guidelines on how active a staff member should be feels unfair. Despite that having no repercussions when staff are inactive for extended lengths of time doesn't feel right. There should really be a point where those inactive players are moved down to slicer to make way for new people to step up.

In a way, I agree, but some might be going through a hard time, finding a college or whatever, I'd agree if after a certain amount of time they were demoted and were checked up on first
school can sometimes be an issue, but it’s not all about that, for example Ox, he doesn’t play cuz he just doesn’t want to (according to what people are saying), there’s also Kaph, Special_Llama, OtakuBookWorm, and others who we don’t know about yet.

I don't see too much of a problem with keeping inactive staff around if they have a chance of coming back. I think a more fast paced promotion system would benefit the server though. That way more currently passionate and active players are on the staff team. I think a more fast paced promotion system would also make people more likely to apply for staff ranks because they would know whether or not they are promoted sooner rather than the application just sitting on the forums for half a year.

if they’re inactive at they really moderating the server tho?
as for rushing promotions I 100% agree, like for example, there were people who applied for builder one week, then the next week got a test trial. I think everyone should have that advantage.

Development team roles are mainly based on need as far as I know. Builders are in high demand because lots of PvE things are waiting on builds to be completed. I waited probably a good 6 months after my PvE application and I've heard of longer. As for the moderation team, I still have no idea when promotions are supposed to happen. Although, I can say that this does weed out a lot of periodically active players from the really active players.
