Years after the kingdom of Elrohir fell Castalina is in a tavern, a small merchant outpost in the middle of the spruce taiga in the cold windy region of Kalros.
Castalina has a cloak on to disguise herself from the crowd, so that no one would notice her. She takes a sip of a cup of Kalrosian ale and rest her arms on the wooden rustic table as she she gets flashbacks of the day the she lost her kingdom.
*Flashbacks*
Castalina is awakened to the sound of distant explosions, in a rush she puts on her slippers as she runs to her bedroom window overlooking the city. She notices a red smaug hovering above the city of fire and ash. A look of fear overcomes her as she then grabs her sword and puts on a breastplate. She slams the doors open from her room and runs into her son Max room next door, he’s no where to be found. The doors of the palace open with Castalina aggressively walking outside as she draws her sword. She notices guards are standing on the grass and are on the walls unsure of what’s happening. “You there! Sound the alarm the city is under attack.” She queen yells to the battlements and pointing at soldiers running past her. Yet no one moves, then out the corner of her eye the guards that guarded her very palace walked up to her and asked her to surrender her sword. With a look of dissapointment, shock and defeat she hands them the weapon.
An explosion goes off near the tower of the summoners and it awakens Zelerity one of the crowned summoners of Elrohir. He heard the door above their chambers burst open upstairs, he grabbed his wand and tippy toed over to xforerunner and shook him awake. “Hey..Hey! We have an intruder, something is happening. I think I hear explosions from outside.” Zelerity says in a whispering tone as the intruders do not yet know there is anyone in the building. They hear the floor creek from above as they get closer, xforunner grabs his wand quietly and moves to the side of the room facing doorway to the hallway. Zelerity stands in the middle of the room facing the doorway in a defense posture and awaits for the soldiers to notice him when they walk downstairs. When they walk downstairs Zelerity notices it’s one of the Elrohiram guards. He puts his hands down from his defensive stance and puts his arms up in a hugging manor as he walks towards them, “My friends. I thought you were someone else-“ Suddenly a arrow punctures Zelerity in the left shoulder from behind as more guards comes pouring in. Zelerity falls to the ground and acts like he is dead. xforerunner looks appalled, and is enraged. He knew the Queen must be in danger so he snuck past the guards as they walked past the doorway. “Look at him, and he was meant to protect us? He isn’t even immune to arrows. The prince was right, new order needs to be instilled around here and that first starts with the summoners no longer in the picture.” Says one of the guards as they circle around the fallen summoner. Suddenly Zelerity’s eyes open as they shine bright blue and fire comes raging out of his ears. Without a motion he sends a fire shock-wave killing all of the soldiers around him in a bright blue flame. He rises and grabs his wand off of the floor, with fire glowing and radiating off of his body he puts on his armor and heads for the chaos inside of the city.
As the battle raged on xforerunner made his way to the gates of the palace which are guarded by the Crown Guards. “Let me in I am a summoner I have urgent business with the Queen” says xforerunner in an urgent short tone. He tries to walk past and open the gates but the crown guards prevent him from doing so as they push him away. “She is in danger! Treachery is upon us and I need to warn her!!” Yells a flustered and frustrated xforerunner. All of a sudden both guards look at each other and nod, they draw their swords and take a defensive stance. “The Queen will no longer need protecting soon” Says one of the guards in a cocky tone as he smiled. Both guards leep in for an attack and suddenly xforerunner’s eyes turn bright red and fire starts glowing and radiating from his body and ears. Both crown guards stood back in fear, knowing the words xforerunner spoke was true. He shot both guards with fireballs as he began to levitate off the ground in a fire spear and blew open the palace gates. He swirled into the courtyard now 50 feet off of the ground and yelled in a voice of 100 people “Where is the Queen!”. All the soldiers in the courtyard came charging at xforerunner and archers on the walls began to shoot at him, he began to return fire. The courtyard went up in flame as the summoner began to fight, shooting multiple burst of fire balls all around.
Witnessing this horrific site was the Queen who was chained to a post guarded by 50 plus soldiers in the throne room. She peaked out of the window watching as fire balls rage around the inner court yard and watched as blue fire balls raged around the city as Zelerity was fighting guards as well. “I command you to let me loose!!” yelled the queen in a flustered tone as she tried to get out of the tightened chains. None of the guards acknowledged her. Suddenly the throne room door busted open as Southpawfighter, a sellsword came in the room with a few more crown guards painted with black X’s on their chest plates. They began fighting all of the soldiers charging at them who were keeping the Queen Hostage. “It’s the Queen!” Yelled southpaw. Suddenly Zelerity and xforerunners heads both turned in the direction of the throne room of the castle from which they heard the Queen. xforerunner burst through the palace wall that oversaw the courtyard and joined the fight on finishing up the rest of the guards that kept the Queen hostage. “My Queen, you need to leave the city. I saw it all happen... it’s terrible.” Said southpaw as he ran up to Castalina as he tried to take her chains off. Suddenly they heard more footsteps running up the stairs to the throne room. “My Queen we need to leave NOW.” Said xforerunner in a voice of 100 people, as he went back to a defensive stance aimed at the doorway. “How could this happen..” the queen said over and over again as she stared off into space. Zelerity then flew through the throne room and joined xforerunner as they aimed their defensive stances at the door. “My Queen we need to get you out of the city. It’s lost but we can come back, soldiers began chanting the name of the -“ southpaw is then cut off as the prince walked in with 60 guards that cornered the rescue party off of a 4 story palace, with a broken hole in the wall. “Well well, mother. Seems as though your time as came to an end.” Max says with a devious smile on his face. “The time of the true king comes to Elrohir” says Obstinace as he puts his hand on Max’s shoulder. “xforerunner take the queen out of the city. Me , paw the rest of the guards will remain her to defend the crown, and the true throne of Elrohir." xforerunner then grabbed Castalina as she was lost for words. She couldn’t even speak, as the only action she could show was shock. xforerunner jumped out of the palace and swirled away with Castalina in his arms. Max stared at her conflicted as she left, and then Obstinace took his hand and pointed his head to the throne and whispered in Max’s ear. The throne room lit up in a bright blue flame and then erupted into an explosion. That only happens when a summoner dies and their wand no longer has a owner.
As Castalina is flown across the city she sees the bodies of innocents and soldiers dead with black X’s on their chestplates. 10 minutes outside of the city xforerunner fell out of the sky, wounded. Him and Castalina crashed into a tree, and fell to the ground. She looked up as she dust off some dust from the fall, and runs over to xforerunner who’s on the ground when he gave his last breathe. He smiles and fades. Castalina slowly saw the fire from the 20 holes in his body that were impaled to fade, she threw her body over him and cried as a hand touched her shoulder. She screamed and grabbed his neck instantly throwing the guard on the ground. “How do I know your not here to kill me?!” She screams as she cries, but then she noticed he had a black X on his chest plate. “When the uprising came many of your guardsmen fought the traitors. We put these X’s on our chest plate to differentiate ourselves in battle.” he says in a shattered tone. “He was a good man your grace, I fought by his side during the battle. He saved my life at the hospital, my company was assigned to hold it at all cost since the advisor was there brewing potions.” says the crown guard as he puts his head down. The dark windy field grows silent as the guard allows for the queen to cry.
“What’s the sound?” The Queen says as she lifts her head up from xforerunner. A horn can be heard in the distance and an army can be seen marching from the tree line brush in the direction of the city. “Your grace get behind me” The crown guard says as he draws his sword with one hand towards and pulls the queen behind his back with his other hand. The horn intensifies and the household banner of Volterra reflects off of the moonlight and the torches of the army. The army stops at the tree line as the front line of Calvery come marching forward. “Your majesty, thank the gods you are alive. My bannermen saw the city under fire and expected to meet an army on the battlefield. Yet I see no one, and my scouts saw no armies outside of your walls.” Said king BlazeSlayer as he rushes up on horse back with his guards. Castalina puts her head down, “Your excellency Blaze. There was an uprising against the crown led by the prince and his adversary Obstinace.” says the crown guard as he stands in front of Castalina. “Treason..... I will have his head.” The angry Blaze says as he grips his sword. “You there, prepare to tell the army to march on the city” Blaze says as he turns his head around to one of his guards. “That will not be necessary. The city is lost and I am without an army. Go back to Volterra, one day I will come back to this kingdom and reclaim what is mine. Then I could use your army, your grace.” Says the Queen as she stands up and puts her cloak on. She looks to the crown guard “You have served me faithfully, go with Blaze and serve him now, until I come back.” The crown guard looks appalled but understands, he bows to the queen and gets on a horse. “Where will you go now?” Concerned Blaze ask Castalina. “I will head where fate calls for now.” She says as she pulls up the hood on the cloak. “You there, show some respect and give this lady your horse.” Blaze says to one of his guards. Castalina gets on and nods to both Blaze and her crown guard as she fades off into the windy night.

Castalina looks out the window with tears in her eyes as she continues to drink and wipes them away with her cloak. She hears footsteps enter the Tavern and recognizes a familiar voice.. Sammy one of her guest from years ago went on a journey to find the queen. He stops at the door guarded by two Elrohiram guards as he says out loud “I am looking for the Queen of Elves” says Sammy wearing the household colors of Elrohir. "Whos asking?" Says Castalina in the corner with her cloak on.
