Im just here bc Magpieman forced me :(

What i wanna point out with this post is why fire aspect shouldnt be removed:
-Because is useful

Fire aspect plays an important part on pvp, the fire deals fire faster, its perfect to raid and gank people in the wilds. On tgen fights it forces people to use fire res pots, which adds another aspect to pot pvp. As they need to care about having speed and strenght, their armor durability, his health and hunger, they also need to take care about their fire res. When people runs out of fire res they usually die, because the fire deals damage (This means is useful)

Also i heared its being removed because fire covers half of ur screen and people are forced to use resource packs with low fire.
About this i just wanna say that people is not forced to use low fire, the people that use those packs its basically because that fire is annoyingf for them. Everyone use differents resources packs, with shaders, faithful, with different particles. At the end everyone customise their resource pack as they feel better, so i dont see this as a reason to remove something that has been in the game for ages and nobody ever complaint about it.

To finish i also heared that the fire causes lag, tbh thats true. But lf with everything that makes lag we are removing it from the game, basically we will just remove all minecraft. The server lagspikes have been fixed a lot, rn theres need to be a 70 man fight to make the server be laggy.
Every normal server will be laggy if there are 70 people from different parts of the world hitting eachother and sending shit tons of logs.

I think that removing fire aspect its just a desesperated change to fix the lagspikes in huge fights. If the admins managed to fix the lagspikes a lot with silly things like making the NPC's slower and freezing hoppers during fights, i guess that with some time they will manage to find a solution without removing something from PvP that is the base of this server.

The lag caused by fire refers to client-side FPS lag, not server-side lag.

In that case is still the same. People with better PCs and with better connection will always have an advantage against others.
Like in every game
Its sad but its like it is, life is hard.

We appreciate the feedback both here and in discord, and there are some valid points from both sides of the argument. In the end, we decided to go with the change below. Hopefully, this is the best of both worlds, solving the problem without removing a core part of PvP.
  • When you have the Fire Resistance potion effect, you will no longer burn. The only change here is that when you set on fire via damage, we stop the burning. Normally, you just run around on fire without taking damage, which is frankly stupid. So now you won't stay on fire if you have FR. Rejoice!
