Suggestion Dungeons/Towers

In general, I feel that Loka has a wonderful mix of elements from Minecraft as a whole. The aspect on which this suggestion is based is regarding PvE, which is a spot I feel Loka could do better in. There is absolutely some great PvE aspects already in Loka, but here's my thoughts on how it could be expanded upon. Please note that this idea, while quite a massive change for Loka, is intended to be an open discussion of ideas and concerns; I am not saying this is exactly how the feature - if implemented - should be like.

Consider the Dreadfort. When I got there, I was shocked how hard it was. The Nether has never really been a big threat to long-term Minecraft players, so the fact the the Dreadfort, even with a god set, is difficult (granted, I suck at combat), is interesting. It got me thinking about the concept of a Dungeon, or maybe a Tower of sorts, which are common in lots of RPG games. You go in, you grind mobs, maybe try to climb as high as you can, and you get a tier-based reward at the end.

Now, on Loka, implementing a system like this would be hard, but has a lot of potential. It gives PvE players something to do every so often that's a big challenge. If available to whole Towns, it adds elements of teamwork and reaching goals. I don't know exactly how the fighting mechanics would work out, but I can see it being sort of similar to Dreadfort, with perhaps the "final floor" being a boss mob. Rewards could be, as I mentioned earlier, tiered. They could range from regular Minecraft items to shards, to the other custom items found while mining, to entirely new items.

The main reason for this feature would be improving the PvE elements, as stated before. It would add an interesting new side to Loka, and I see room for lots of room for expansion with this, from Town competitions to leaderboards and monthly prizes... but what do you think? Could Loka use more PvE content like this? Is the Dungeon concept too far from Loka's style? Do you have any suggestions?

Like I said, very very basic and crude idea, but with some work, I think it could be something really cool!

I'm not on the dev or builder team, but I personally feel like with 1.13 coming out soon that something PVE related will come as well with it. Nonetheless this is a cool suggestion and I really like the concept of the Dungeon aslong as it brings some bountiful rewards with it.

This idea has certainly been bounced around before, the problem with this suggestion is where would the dungeons be? How large would the dungeons be? What quality would they be to and should we sacrifice quality for a better dungeon which would take time to create.

The large difference which we should play attention to is how different Loka is now as it definitely has the resources to foster a dungeon system undoubtedly as well as having a PVE development team which would be able to build a considerable event due to their size and skill pool.

Tl;dr - the prospect of creating more dungeons is interesting but there certainly are a lot of minor problems which come with it.

Absolutely, any large-scale system like this would be a massive pain to manage. What I have in mind is closer to a minigame. It wouldn't need to be super long or detailed, necessarily. Like I said, the idea is very crude right now, but with refinement, who knows!

See dungeons have been a thing that I've really wanted for a long time. However, after seeing some of the more technical things, and a lot of the overhead in actually implementing an instanced dungeon I don't doubt that they will be in Loka but, I definitely don't think we will see any for some time.

@Steve5729 this is a really up in the air thing I think as well, I think they've been planning to redo the end for ages in fairness

The idea of implementing dungeons is appealing. However, as nickrocky has said, I don't see their implementation for a bit of time. You would also need to be very careful in balancing these "dungeons" with other PVE based things. These dungeons can't be too op to the point where no one does anything outside of these dungeons for rewards.

Well the likelihood of the next PVE dungeon being end city related is considerably high. This being said if Loka were to introduce dungeons it would make sense for them to function similarly in the sense of being a unique area off continent and offering continent unique rewards.
