engineer title:

you get engineer from finding game breaking bugs and reporting them

game breaking bugs such as dupes and ways to lag the server

it would actually make people want to report game breaking dupes and bugs instead of abusing them and getting banned

It's a good concept I just feel the title should go to something more deserving or find something more suiting for what you are talking about. However I do think that helping the server via reporting bugs shouldn't be rewarded as I did this action in good health instead of using it for destructive powers. The incentive in reporting bugs such as duping or lag methods is not being permanently/temporarily banned or blacklisted.

It's a good concept in theory, but I feel that players will use this as an excuse to find and abuse bugs even harder. Not like they don't already. They once their set for the immediate future, report it (if even).

Overall, it's good in theory, in practice however, players aren't that, what's the word, trusting. This is just my two cents though -1

This would definitely result in people telling all their friends the moment they find a glitch so it can be mass reported and everyone gets a title.

If there's a dupe or a game breaking bug out there the last thing we want to incentivise is players telling other players about it.

That's a cool title though.

You don't really need a title to be a good samaritan. Titles for Build Team and PvE Team are there because the player directly contributes to the server by building structures or creating quests or skins for NPCs. Bug testing is really just bug testing. You don't really fix much of anything yourself, just listing problems you find. But an interesting idea nonetheless.

Our friend might be onto something here.

I really like the title itself "Engineer". However, as for the framework, it could use some work. I don't believe it should be about reporting duping but more about the types of things you create as a player, and could even have some Redstone components to it as well.

I know a lot of creative and talented Lokans who deserve the Engineer title over Master Angler because it highlights one of the important skill sets they have as a player, not by reporting things if that makes sense.

I feel like this conversation should continue to kind of create something in the realm of this title but not with the description you suggested.

me and qfu suggested the 'annoying' title for finding the banner bug at spawn!

it got denied

We have been discussing something along these lines along with a bounty for finding dupes. Other bugs aren't likely to be eligible for something like this since they are almost always less egregious.

Dupes are, however, much more destructive and we do want to incentivize the public to look for and file thorough and detailed reports about them. We want to first, however, get to a place where we feel most of the known issues have been fixed, otherwise a thousand people will report the same thing.

I agree. I like the sound of an Engineer title, however, Redstone on Loka is either part of quests or part of builds or buildings around Loka, so it mostly just falls under those categories. I was thinking maybe Engineer could be somebody that works on the code of the server, maybe plugins or sharding or making the questing system better, but that would probably just be a Cryptite and magpieman thing.
I feel that maybe it could still be used for bug testing, but with a barrier between the average player that casually finds bugs and reports them, and (I don't like having to use myself as an example here) players like me that actively look for bugs and try to break the game and know how to look for bugs and goes through processes. I usually try my best to document bugs, trying to write reports in detail, as well as what further the bugs affect, testing potential parallel bugs that could be similar, and every now and then giving my input on how the issue can be resolved. I guess it takes someone to be on the dev team to test things as they are created and as they are being developed, and having the ability to spot potential issues that could arise and working alongside the dev team to fix issues, that would make someone worthy of having such a title. But then again, maybe just because I went into detail, it would probably be really exclusive and niche.
