Implemented Farm Crops Trampled - Town Perk

This has been suggested numerous times and I think we've all talked about it once or twice; making level 20 give a town perk that allows members of said town to jump on crops without trampling them.

This is an incredibly small and arguably useless perk for most towns, and I really can't argue that it does serve a very little purpose. However, to new towns starting out this could be considerably useful not to mention it would encourage towns to create more aesthetically pleasing farms which have levels to them instead of living in fair of them being destroyed.

You've argued that this feature would be useful to new towns starting out - yet you are suggesting a level 20 town perk? From my experience, most towns at that point infrequently use traditional farms, and instead rely on industries or other food sources entirely. Even for the few high-level towns that do still use their farms, I imagine they will have mechanisms in place to automate the farming process. That said, there could potentially be a place for this perk lower down on the level ladder.

Additionally, level 20 is currently the town perk granting the level 4 (Lord) slot. Are you suggesting this mechanism to be an additional feature of level 20? If not, I am confused, as I doubt that the Level 20 perk will be replaced any time soon. Especially since levels 5, 10, and 15, also grant member level slots.

I agree with Kaphox in that level 20 should not be replaced, and honestly, I feel that way about all the perks. the inly way I could see this working us to add it alongside a currently existing perk, maybe level 8, since I personally feel that 8 has the least used (at least by me) perk.

I haven't had to harvest a wheat field in a year, but I always find myself stepping on the crop as I run around town which tears up the fields we have for decoration. I'd suggest one of the lower level filler perks or a plain old option to disable crop trample if it's to be added. Maybe just by town members, but raiders stamping out a towns tilled soil is a little over the top anyhow so maybe it's for the best to do both.

Could also possibly be added as a perk for reaching a certain farming level.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure a lot of us didn't know you were considering adding perks based on individual levels alone, that would fit far better in that bracket imo

When originally designing industries, I had intended for artisan industries to improve every 20 levels you gained in that mastery. For example, perhaps the blacksmiths has an infinitely fuelled furnace when unlocked at 40, then at level 60 you would gain access to the infinite use anvil, at 80 you recover 20% of materials used to craft armour/weapons/tools inside the industry. 100 could be something even cooler. While it may be a bit more complicated, from a players perspective, adding it to gathering industries (mainly because they already scale based on both level and number of territories) it could certainly be looked into.

Similarly, this could just be "A Thing that always is" aka, just by default nobody can trample crops in towns. There's next to no reason anyone ever actually would want this; it was just kind of a neat (but mostly annoying) vanilla feature. I'm not sure it has any reasonable gameplay functionality other than "survival realism".

then let’s change it

Honestly, I'm fairly certain that most people on the server don't use farms for actual farming and use it merely for aesthetics, if this was to be removed it really wouldn't take away from the game play at all.
