Fishing on Loka is one of the more heavily used PVE parts of the server, there's daily tourneys on a pvp server just for fishing which is regularly attended by atleast 5-10 people minimum.

Now that autofishers are nerfed it doesn't make much sense to not include fishing as a level that could have, there could easily be an industry for this although it could be considered unneeded.

The only reason in the past for not adding this was that autofishers could be abused by players.

IRC, fishing gives experience towards the Framing industry. I believe I read a previous thread in which Magpie stated this.

Perhaps this industry gives you primarily fish and small occasional amounts of prismarine or the "Nether Loot" tile buff just becomes a "Better Loot" buff in which prismarine (and the other ocean blocks) are included. Just some additional ideas to fully flesh out some sort of output but to be quite frank I feel its pretty niche/focused. After all, the continents only produce 2 types of fish when you include clownfish being caught in all of them.

Once 1.13 rolls out there should be more support for a fishing industry I believe

Like magpie has mentioned in previous threads it could be doable for say fishing level 20 to unlock a buff like better chances at fishing, less durability taken in town or even unique items for crafting.

Then it becomes unfair to have fishing tournaments against higher level towns.

Similar to what Pear said, I think that this is something that could gain quite a bit of support once 1.13 comes into play. I do like the idea of there being more ways to level up a town, but the output/incentive for adding this would need to be thought out
