No Plans to Implement Invis...

Allow town members/alliance members to see each other while invis.

You guys decided to make it so you couldn't see other peoples CITs and only yours, which made wilds fights weird and annoying because you can't use invis in a group fight otherwise you end up hitting or killing a teamate because you don't know who is who. Allowing town and or alliance members to see each others in-game tag while invis would be a pretty cool feature in my opinion.

This was also a bug (apparently) like a month or two ago and I don't see an issue with it. I get that CITs could be seen as an unfair advantage because not everyone knows how to make CITs (although most use packs with them but yeah yeah w/e ), this way all towns would be able to see their teammates making it a fair game.

don't make me have everyone carry a flower in their offhand!

+1 this would just be a major improvement when people are going invisible in fights and such

Sidenote: I could be wrong but I think you also even used to be able to see your invisible town members which only makes this suggestion more valid

well that is not a reason it shouldnt be considered
It's a perfectly valid reason. The question is why are players going invis in the first place? If it's to hide nametags, then we have no interest in changing anything. Sure it adds an item sink to the server (invis pots) but that removes an important visual we use to display information about a player, such as their allegiance to you, PvP state etc. At which point we would want both sides to see each others invis name tag and then we are back to stage one. The disadvantage of invis is not being able to differentiate friend from foe, take that away and there is no reason not to use them 24/7.

Or have everyone in your alliance go invis instead?
The only legitimate reason I can see anyone wanting this is to make it so you can see allies but enemies don't know who to focus in a fight. It's a dumb suggestion simply because it takes away all the cons of invis.

"The only legitimate reason I can see anyone wanting this is to make it so you can see allies but enemies don't know how to focus in a fight" ?? If they really want to see who to focus then use the anti debuff potion and bam we're not invis anymore. Which is a con of using invis btw.
Then they do what Sigma/Casper did and just go invis as well, not like we have CITs anymore??

As for you Sparky you literally linked post from 2018 when people had CITS and could see each other, but last year you guys decided it was a big brain idea to remove them because it's an "unfair advantage", but literally most people who PvP have CITs in their pack or at least use too until you removed them. So either add CITs back or this, obviously if you want to use the "unfair advantage" excuse to not adding CITs back then this is a simple alternative.

I also don't even recall people complaining about seeing town members invis a few months back seeing as how people literally thought it was a feature added and not a bug. You guys are just repeating the same thing from 2018 and it's a dumb excuse to not add this.

If you read the threads you'll see that in each one the decisions not to implement them is not solely or really at all about CITs.

Enabling this would just turn invis into another fire resistance, a potion everybody needs to carry and drink every 8 minutes "because reasons". Currently, having trouble telling friend from foe is the only disadvantage using invis has. Using CIT packs mitigates this disadvantage, so if anything we should be looking at ways to nerf CIT packs, not buff invis.

No, we never had this. It was suggested once before, but really if you want to be able to easily identify who's who on the battlefield then you shouldn't be using invis. What you want is the advantages of being invis without any of the disadvantages, which is silly.

Like I said in the previous thread, it would turn invis potions into just another fire resistance, a potion you need to carry around and drink every 8 minutes because otherwise you're disadvantaged. I don't see a real argument for it here, only that it's confusing. And I would agree that it can be difficult to find a specific teammate among an entire team of invis players, but why is that an issue? Why shouldn't it be hard to find that specific player? If a player wants to be quickly identifiable by their teammates then they shouldn't drink an invisibility potion.

It appears I was mistaken. Ultimately, this isn't something we want to introduce. The reasons were basically already covered by Sku as well as that thread he linked.

The colours of armour should distinguish who is on what side. Invis should have downsides otherwise there is no reason not to use it. It's a small downside not knowing which player on your team is who. There is also the downside of not knowing if a fully invis (with no armour) is an ally or enemy. The upside of course is preventing your opponents from targeting key players on your team. There are already far too many 'must use' things in minecraft with little or no counter play. Fire resistance is the classic example. We don't want invis to become the same.

The suggestion isn't about removing invis, it's about making it a one-way invis for your alliance. If you really wanna see who your teammates are then use the anti debuff potion and bam you're not invis anymore. :)
