No Plans to Implement Item drop confirmation

I think that we should add some kind of item drop confirmation, like you have to press q twice. Imagine you're in RI and accidentally press q and your pickaxe falls into lava. I just recently lost an item in my own town by accidentally pressing q, and it despawned. Some people have lost god armour. Having a simple confirmation would prevent incidents like these.

You can always change your drop key so its not right next to the movement slot, I feel having to press q twice could be annoying unless it was a toggleable option

It's already fairly easy for towns and individuals to accrue large amounts of tools and armour. If I recall correctly, the idea of having more resource sinks has been raised in recent State of the Servers. I don't think adding a feature making it even easier to retain your gear is in the interests of the server. Perhaps alter your controls as Evil_X suggested.

There should also be a toggle for if you accidentally fall in lava that teleports you to your last position. And maybe if you accidentally break a pickaxe while mining, you press a button and it comes back with full durability.

I accidentally fell into a hole one time and had to /kill, can I get refunded for that?

These are completely different situations. I do not see how you can compare this to accidentally dropping an item.

I don't really see the point in this, I get it sucks when you accidentally drop something in the lava and it's convenient having the key be Q, I don't think a new feature is a solution for this though, what I've learned to do overtime is change my drop key when I'm about to go out and do something, conquest fight, raid, resource island etc.

Like I said it's sucky when it happens but I think this is just one of those things you gotta take a lesson from my guy.

Appreciate the suggestion but this is not something we are likely to implement. Seems like a very extreme solution to a niche problem. I always bind drop to 'p' personally, imo 'q' is a very silly default key bind for it.

I play bedrock edition frequently, and when you drop something in bedrock, is makes a 'pop' sound similar to when you pick up an item. so for parity's sake, this should be in the vanilla game.
Anyway until that happens, I don't think it would be to hard to add a dropping item sound for the players that do have their drop button as 'q' for it's convenience.
