Suggestion Length Between Tournaments

There has been some discussion regarding the length of time between tournaments where the champion has to defend his title. Would like to hear some thoughts on how often the current champion should be required to defend it. Personally, I like the idea of having them monthly to make the title something that is constantly up for grabs, but many of you have expressed different opinions and I would love to hear them. The reason I love events in general is because it brings the whole community from all continents to enjoy something together, so I would like to have tourneys pretty regularly. I may be alone in that though and some people may think having a big event every month would be too much? I would love to see other towns doing different kinds of events more often as well, multiple events during a month give people things to look forward to and log on for. Please give me your thoughts!

I feel like one combat tournament each month runs the risk of burnout. I don't even compete in them but perhaps once a season with different tournaments sprinkled in? We haven't had an official building tournament in years.

I would like more combat tournaments than one a season, but I would love to see different tourneys pop up about other things. The harder thing with that is the administration of them. I have tried to think of ways to do different types of them but it's not as simple as it sounds. I also wonder how many people would actually get excited about a building tournament? Loka doesn't have a huge surplus of fantastic builders. It's usually like one person per town that really enjoys building from what I have seen. That said I think a building competition would be fun, has it been done on Loka before, Zor? How did it go?

Our first and only building tournament was put together by Magpieman, I believe, who created a portal at spawn to another world where everyone was in creative mode. We had maybe 16 entrants who competed in a traditional tournament bracket and were given a theme and about 15 minutes to interpret and build it. Each build was then judged by Magpie and a few others and it continued on in that fashion until we had one winner. It was pretty fun. Our winner was Lucifer09, if anyone remembers her, and she either got to design an official structure or one of our holiday themes at spawn.

If we were to do another one we'd have to work out a few issues encountered in our last one like smuggling creative permissions to main Loka and storing items in enderchests.

Maybe having every two months, a pvp tourny of a kind. For example kit pvp. The next tourny needs to be pot pvp. And changing the champion title, making it that to get the champion title u need to win kit pvp and pot pvp tourny. Or if u win one tourny, to fight for the title u need the beat the actual champion on boths pvp styles.
In case of a draw, we should let the champion choose the pvp style for the last round/match
