I'm writing up some short surveys to gather information for a number of Loka's features. Each survey will be open for approximately one week then I will post the collective responses. They are anonymous unless you choose to leave your name in the comment field available on most forms.

Boxes are by definition empty in the inside and have to be filled, it is the action of filling that frightens me. Or the idea of doing something. Or just moving. Moving makes me want to stop moving.

I suppose a month is long enough for one survey. The results for the battlegrounds survey have now been uploaded. I am leaving for about two weeks but once I return I should be home the rest of the summer and will be able to follow up on my past surveys and make some new ones.

Some comments:

The vast majority of players seem to enjoy role-play which I suppose is good because this is still a role-play server. Just about any type of RP event will be well received, though RP that involves an adventure or exploration is most liked, followed by puzzles and mysteries. Combine the two and you've got a very clear winner.

Half of all respondents would like to see some kind of RP event every week. This is probably not a realistic expectation for larger role-play events, but if you work with your town members you could probably pull off some smaller events. Text-based RP is very simple to do and can easily be done in the server's RP chat room (assuming that's still available?). If you would like to see some larger, more involved RP I would suggest putting together something of a guild with the other players. Perhaps break into smaller groups and take turns putting events together so that everyone can participate. If you need help pulling it off then Crypt is the man to go to, though I would suggest having some solid ideas or plans ready to share with him.

The Minecraft survey wasn't directly related to Loka, but I was curious what kind of people we have on the server. We seem to have a very wide variety of players and from looking through the individual results most people have at least 4-5 different roles they like to take. If you want to attract more people to your town be sure to let everyone know what kind of players you're looking for. I'm sure you'll find plenty of interested players no matter what you're looking for (except maybe the one person who writes books).
