Starting tomorrow at, I think, 1pm Server time, we will have the #2 or #3 featured server listing for Loka on top of Minecraft Forums for two weeks! MCF claims it gets around 6 million unique page views per month, so this could very well bring an awful lot of new players to Loka! This is the hope anyway!

As a result, be prepared for a possible inundation of new folks and, as always, be helpful and welcoming to the new guys. If you were looking to recruit for your town, now might be the time to prepare to do so.

It's not gonna be like big twitch streamer where we get 100 people simultaneously; at least I assume it won't. My guess is it'll just mean we have a lot more new players streaming in throughout the day. We will still likely only see 5% or so of them stick around, but who knows!
 
Try to restrain from killing new players--unless they attack you. I will try to help as many as I can.

For those curious, as of right now, (about 22.5 hours since the feature went live), we've had 117 new players join Loka, 75 of those 'made it to Aladra' (about 65%). I don't have any data on how many stayed for any reasonable amount of time, but that's good progress.

If that pace continues, and doesn't increase/decrease on weekends, we should expect to have around 1,500 new players join Loka over the next two weeks. The pace may drop for frequenters of MCF though who've seen and already checked out Loka, but we'll see!

Keep up the great work those of you who have helped to shepherd the new joins around.

I'd also like to mention that we have made Wolfegger an honorary Sentry for the next two weeks as he's been helping out new players a LOT and is also on at times when Loka is very low-population or has no Sentries on. Thanks Wolf!
