Sorry for my onslaught of suggestions, but here's more of a fun one!
Recently, with the whole war going on, the server can get...stressful at times, and I think everyone can agree on that; however, when in a discord voice chat with several members from both sides [including: Skuhoo, Borne_/CashmereDogs, Kallious, Lottaine, Opyc, Jedoi, Adara, Quazister, and myself] I've noticed that we can have a lot of fun together when we put all of this war, and alliances, and such behind us...all while we were screwing around in the Hilo Hockey Arena with a small slime named "Puck".
So here's my suggestion: to alleviate the ever present stress, and just to have fun every once in a while, can we get a ship, much like the end or nether one, that teleports us to an island with different minigames? I understand that's half the point of VotA or PG, but those are all PvP based minigames, but I have some pretty good ideas set up for your not-so-typical minigames that could be set up on Loka that I think would be quite fun for all involved! Obviously, no prizes have to be rewarded for something meant for fun, but perhaps for the more competitive among us, bets could be placed [between players...I have no idea if it could be regulated through administration] or even some kind of tournament prizes!
So, minigame ideas:
Cactori!
This was more of an older type of game for minecraft, but it's still quite fun. Players are given simple leather armor, dyed based on their team color, and occasionally enchanted with Unbreaking 3. They'd then be given a stick that was enchanted with Knockback [this is where we need the help of administration. Through normal, vanilla means, players cannot enchant a stick with Knockback], The players would be placed on a circle of ice, surrounded by Cacti. The object of the game was to launch your opponents into the Cacti and hopefully damage them until until they die. The last one/team standing, wins!
Ice Hockey!
Simple enough, this idea came to me when playing in the Hilo Ice Hockey Arena! Having a small slime, possibly renamed "puck", players would be given knockback sticks and would try to shoot the slime into the opponents net! Administration, again, would have to step in and give the slime special potion effects, such as regeneration, absorption, and/or resistance, so that players can't kill the puck.
Hungry Hungry Hippos!
Many might remember this game from their childhood! Little balls would be placed into the middle of an arena and would roll towards one of four players. The players would capture the balls with their hippo, and the one who had the most balls in their hippo after the allotted time would become the victor! So, how does this translate to minecraft? Simple! On a circle of ice, have several droppers/dispensers dispense colored dyes, Players stand on four opposing sides of this circle and, using fishing rods, try to catch the dyes. The fishing rod will connect to the dyes, and will be dragged back across the ice as the player draws in the reel. Players could also be awarded points if they can steal dye that is farther away from them [indicated by the color the dye is]. After a few minutes or so, the droppers could stop dispensing items and an official can come around and count the points of each player!
Well Tee, I hear you metaphorically say, why not just go to some Minecraft Minigames server with some buddies from Loka? Well, that's a good point, but these are three unique minigames that I haven't personally seen from any minigames server, or at least, not in a long time. For example, Cactori used to be one of my favorite minigames, but I haven't seen it in ages and would love to revive the game. Furthermore, the point is to revitalize the Lokan community, instead of it just be a stress-fest all day long, and I think this is the perfect way to do it.
Okay, fair points, I hear you also metaphorically say. But Tee, if you can think of these ideas, and Hilo has already made an Arena, and Auru already has a PvP arena of sorts, why can't you just make another Arena like those before you have? Well, again, that's a good point...unfortunately, I'm a terrible builder and have no way of producing the awesome arenas that were produced before me. Furthermore, I want to ensure that everyone feels safe when going to these small minigames: almost like this island will act as a sanctuary like the ports of the Nether and the End, or Aladra do! Plus, with certain items needing to be required, such as an invincible puck, or knockback sticks, those are things I simply can't obtain through vanilla means and need the help of administration for...even for a game like Cactori, I couldn't make an arena for it near Auru, simply because Cactus won't grow in Kalros...so unfortunately, it can't be done :/
Oh well, I digress. As always, I'd love some questions, comments, and concerns and, hey, if you have some minigame ideas yourself, feel free to add them! I'd love to see something like this get implemented for all of us, and for us to have fun with it! Loka is a great community, and I love it...but when everything is currently based around the Conquest war...well, it gets stressful [and repetitive if you're like me and just die a lot...I'm trying hard, but I can't just "git gud" over night...].
