Suggestion More Void Storage groups per town

One thing that could be cool is if you could have more void storage "groups" per town (aka have multiple void storage systems with independent items). This way, you could have a personal one in your house, and then have a main one for a war room, another one at each building place, etc. Would be really fun and allow for more things to be done with void storage.

If this were to be implemented, I could see this working similar to how Slimefun handles cargo nodes, where you can change the "channel" the void storage is on.

How would the house one work tho? Like, what will you be storing in there for such large uses that shulkers+dubchests can't be used for?
For one, storing heads outside of vs is a giant pain. I have to keep my head shulks spread between 5 different dubs, because putting them all into 1-2 makes it really laggy to open and can make my game crash.

I'm not sure this is 100% necessary, but its a fun idea.

in addition to this i think it should br done by zones. So if diamond sword gets deposited in thorgnys rooms it will search thorgnys room (the zone) and if it found a diamond sword void in the zone it depo in that zone, if it cant it will go to the towns general void storage that the town would be able to mark or define. the void deposit would also have to be in the same zone as the zone you want your items to be deposited in

This is basically "the other" big VS request. There are a couple ways mechanically people could pull from VS:
  • VS access chests work like normal chests where multiple people can view it. There is a branch of development on Loka that tried this once but never got finished
    • The opportunity for dupes here is tremendous so it has to be So Super Duper Correct before we add it.
  • Or, VS access becomes transactional, meaning you can no longer operate the chests like Minecraft with all the fancy hotkeys to speed up inventory management. Instead it becomes more like a vendor where you have to shift-click or something to "withdraw" each individual item (not very cash money when wanting to pull out lots of things at once).
    • This would be a lot more stable since each withdrawal attempt would verified by db to prevent dupes. (So would the above way, but, like, harder)
    • But it would be a hell of a lot more slow to use.
Personally I find it a good challenge, and programming exercise to still attempt to accomplish the first way of doing it, and it would certainly make VS a system that you really wouldn't find on another server if it worked without dupes.

I'm not sure I like the idea that there is "Sub VS storage" as managing which "set" of heads is in one VS access chest or another. At some point this just becomes having bigger-than-usual chests or something. I think I see it more as though there are n access chests that can all access Head Storage, and everybody who interacts with it can fight over pulling them out.

Basically the first bullet point above was meant to help with war rooms when lots of players need to pull from pot storage all at once. TBH I don't actually know how big towns manage this, or do people just wait their turn to pull stuff out?

People wait their turns in pre-warp, but if it's a clutch moment (like when you die in war and need to warp back quick) usually there's barrels / chests / pre-filled shulkers to grab. Tbh, apart from people being way too slow sometimes and hogging the chest, it's not that big of a deal.

Personally what I'd use two different VS systems for, is to manage the amount of pots/steak/pearls available in the war room VS system. Would be nice to be able to do something like "move 2k pearls to system1", instead of needing to have chests full with shulkers of pearls in the owner storage to prevent someone from taking 50k pearls at once.

Perhaps that could be achieved with some kind of rationing system (people can take X amount per Y time), or some kind of reserve (only X/Y goods can be taken by non-owners).

Actually now that I talk about other solutions, two different VS systems doesn't really seem needed. For my own room, except for maybe heads/blood, and possibly shulkers, a personal VS system doesn't seem needed, and in fact might have negative effects, in so far that if someone has that many shulkers that they can no longer fit them in chests in their room and need a VS for themselves, I'd rather they just donate their surplus shulkers to the town storage.
