No Plans to Implement Mutes

I would like to see a fair muting systhem.

At the moment everyone gets perm muted instantly if they abuse chat, i think that starting with tempmutes would be better 1 month or 3 month (for example)

And dont be saying ''just dont get muted'' because everyone can have a bad day and not think about consequences.
and i think that a temp mute is more fair because right now appeals get dennied because ''they appeal too soon''

This is false and completely incorrect. If someone is claiming this happened to them then you are being a bit naive believing them. Players will receive numerous warnings from staff before being perma muted, and we even have a single warn policy on most hate speech (this includes a specific warning that further hate speech will result in a perma mute). We tend to reserve perma mutes for the most problematic of players and base mutes on the severity of the offenses/warnings not just the number of them. There are plenty of players with a long list of chat offences that are not muted because they are minor.

Here is the thread explaining why perma mutes were added. The majority of the community wanted them because it prevented a lot of players from being banned from the server https://lokamc.com/forums/index.php?threads/perma-mutes.4541/

If someone feels they have been muted unfairly they can appeal it on the forums publicly. I think you will have a hard time finding a rejected appeal that does not justify a mute.

Ultimately this system just gives staff more control over who can serve their time in being muted, and if they do deserve the unmute after 1 month or 3 months, staff gets the decision in when its up (provided they appeal). A permamute doesn't necessarily mean a mute that will go on forever, as it's moreso a mechanism for us to allow those who have improved to come back, and to keep those who need to stay with their mute in that position without there being a forced expiration time on it.
