Chapter 1: Beginnings
Chapter 1: Beginnings
Do not fear the darkness, but welcome its embrace. Requiescat in pace
(As always, music to make it more fun!)
Not all stories start with heroes in magnificent castles adorned in diamond plated armor. More often than not, they start quietly. Away from the trouble, where nothing seems wrong and the world is not so daunting. It is here my story, too, begins. In a quiet home by the sea surrounded by those few I called family.
Eventually the fateful day came that would tear that world away from me. From my family, and my home. It wasn't a day unlike any others though. It was only when the sun began to set that it became clear something was wrong. As we laid down to sleep, no sleep would come. As if some force prevented us from finding comfort in our dreams. That's when we began to hear them.
When morning came, I did the only thing I could do. I Left the smoldering rubble that was once my home and ventured into the unknown wilds of the world.
In time, I stumbled upon a massive fortress. Built in the middle of a lake, it towered above the waves. Inside I saw them, other people moving about the fortress rebuilding damaged wall and collecting resources.
Multiple weeks passed as I learned how to fight against the monsters and hold them back from the walls. I found new friends and after everything that had happened I once again to have hope for the future. In spare moments I would remember the fate of my family, and grieve them in silence. Everyone here had lost someone, my grief fell on numb ears.
Even in this place I came to know one man above the rest as a true friend. His name was Saporium and beyond just a champion of the Keep, he also was a lead architect in its creation. Together Saporium and I fought for survival in the keep until one night, no one else remained.
That night we made our final stand, we knew that tonight it would end but we fought on. As the walls began to come down around us we fought on, harder than we ever had before. We would not go quietly into the darkness. And yet it claimed us just the same. In those final moments a bolt of lightning stuck the single remaining tower of the keep on which we fought and the floor beneath us exploded and we fell.
Remember the day,
You used to play,
without fear?
without remorse?
There were friends,
true friends.
They're still here.
Find them,
before they forget,
before they forgive,
your lack of faith.

Author's notes:
- I finally got around to writing some more lore. I've been so much time actually playing I haven't been worrying much about lore.
- For those curious this is a story that follows my true story through the realm of minecraft. If someone would like a non-roleplay explanation of what this whole story was just post a comment about it. I decided not to include it by default because I'm not sure if anyone wants to know what really happened. Stories are always more fun.
- I hoped you liked the music too, I had one hell of a time trying to pick a song.
- Also, for those curious about the ending poem, or for those who recognize it. Spend some time searching Ascalon, you'l find your answers there.
