what is the difference between this and just using optifine F3 + H
F3 H just say there is “x” amount of tags. This tells you exactly what the tags are so you can use them. Has multiple applications like debugging and for development purposes but it’s also often used so those who make texturepacks can use more specific cit parameters instead of general ones that could potentially affect other items’ textures.

Edit: Also F3+H is a vanilla thing, not an optifine one.

The concern here is that it could be used to find broken items and use them maliciously... Not sure there's any good reason for players to need this. In a perfect world Loka itself handles NBT perfectly and you don't have to worry about this.

Incorrect, all it does is show an item's properties. It doesn't do anything with tampering, editing, or altering NBT data, so it can't be used maliciously. Most servers allow it because it helps members in the community use the tags, custom model data ID information, and name formating for more specific parameters when creating custom item textures without having to bug devs and admins for the specifics of each item. Nothing malicious about it. Examples from another server below.

i think that this would be a really cool mod to add as it would give players more information on their items, possibly creating more economic value to items (and less) if the tags are different than others. +1

Speaking of this, not exactly sure, but I think it would show lore data like who lored it etc.

bump

Also, after testing it out on another server, certain items, such as alcohol, will show exact "stats" in NBT Tags, even if not shown in item lore/text. For example, the brewery plugin has a certain way to change hide star quality, the time brewed, # of times distilled, and/or the number of years aged. Seeing this type of information would help market scams where people purposely hide information on bad batches of alcohol in order to make sure it sells. This type of scam is already common, if not rampant, in Loka's market.
