Which rank you are applying for: Librarian


What you think is expected of this rank: A librarian should first and foremost be equipped with a strong passion to read and to write on Loka, as Magpieman originally said on the Librarian thread. I have to agree. This is a very specific honor that a person would be able to care for and organize books that are in fact years and years old on the server. It is an equal privilege that they would be able to shelve newly-written books made by our own great community. The librarian would ensure overall that writings submitted are regulated and shelved to their specifically aisle in the library.

Why you think you should become this rank: A lot of people know me as a writer and explorer on the server. I have always tried to be knowledgeable about the general history of Loka, and I have especially spent a lot of time flipping through the books in the Aladra library. Even with my time away from the server, I have been consistently writing for over a year now. A fair amount of people, at least a handful, have turned to me for advice on how to get their books successfully published in the library. I want to in fact encourage this. Even if I do not have the privilege of ever becoming a librarian for Loka, I only hope that players on the server develop a growing enthusiasm and sense of joy for reading and/or writing.

How often do you play (hours a day/week): It really depends on how my schedule is. I try to be on Loka at least once a day, even if its just for an hour. I will obviously let people know if my PC suddenly breaks or if I am going on vacation.

Neph would be great as a librarian. He's big on lore, writing, collecting books, and trying to keep interest in server and player lore going. Plus, he's super active. +1
 
Overall, this is a +1 for me, as I do agree that Nephist does write a ton of in-game books and whatnot. HOWEVER, I always have the personal preference of referring to people to writing lore on the forums. Without being bound to the 50 minecraft book pages, I feel like forum posts really help develop the skills of an author as you can really grow and flourish on a proper lore story.

Not to brag or anything, but take for example, Gain His Trust, my personal lore story on the forums. At this point, as I'm working on the 12th chapter, it's broken over 110 pages. By the time I applied for Librarian, I think I was already at 30. But with a big part of Librarian not only about reading and knowing the lore, but writing it, excuse me for seeming just a little skeptical. And yes, I know that you have written the "Origins of Nephist" in the past, and it truly is amazing! Just...write more XD

However, again, I wholeheartedly agree that Nephist should be a Librarian. +1 man. I hope you get it!
 
I can tell just from my experiences with you, that you are very serious and dedicated when it comes to taking on responsibility, but also when it comes to writing on the server. Whether this is about events occurring (political, war, or otherwise) or about server lore, I have personally witnessed you take care to put things to paper. In addition, you have quite the careful eye and are often always looking out to preserve lore, whenever you might come across it in your travels. For those reasons, I think you already embody the necessary qualities and are clearly already trusted with enough responsibility (having been made a Sentry) that being made a librarian should (hopefully) be an easy decision for all. +1
