Suggestion New Town member book

When a player joins a town, maybe we could set a book that he would be given at the moment he is accepted / joins?

Cause we have /g apply - to join a town whos owner is not online.



This way we could guide the people, give them info, even if we accept the request and arent online to guide them thru.

In my town to combat the issue of time taken to initiate players I've started to plan out a intro area. In this area there are designated buildings which cover different aspects of Loka.

I would much prefer if we were able to create something like books or make use of the library suggestion brought forward awhile ago.

+1 though could be very nice to see =)

It seems like it would be really hard to explain everything in one book. New players typically don’t even read the server description before they join, let alone the wiki, let alone a massive book guide. Seems to me that if they’re going to read anything, the wiki would be far more useful.

Personally I love setting up a time and calling my new members to get to know them and show them basic stuff around Town. Makes for closer bonds rather than them bein “just another player”!

Sadly, not everyone has time to explain the basics Iver and over again just for players to find out this server isn't for them and to never come back again. Also, don't think of it as trying cram the whole server into a book, instead just barebones basic guide to a couple things.

This might not be Grub's vision but it's personally what I think would suit this suggestion best for new players and players.

Seems a better way to accomplish this is just a one-time Town Job that players can accept that rewards said Book.

I can kind of see where you're coming from, but I feel this would be better done by Loka itself rather than leaving it up to each Town to write a possibly inaccurate book about the server. Crypt and I have discussed this before - that is, making the server easier to understand for new folks - and that's why I've written the wiki starter guide. Apart from that, I'm doing a video series (you may have seen the "starting a town" one before I deleted it) so people can easily learn server basics. That series is going to be totally accurate, and as condensed as possible, with the guidance of Crypt.

Again, I agree new people could use a bit of help, but I don't think leaving it up to Town leaders is the best move.

I say we give thema book and test to see if they're trustworthy like i did with grub easy
