Okeh everyone get ready for this idea that is probably in every ones mind...

Place able Particles!

Hear me out, so you can get a custom item that allows you to place particles around your build, lets say like smoke for a chimney . But obviously limit the amount of uses in an area. Lets say a town can only have so many particles. This should be there so people don't create massive lag areas

This idea would unfortunately kill the performance of almost everyone's client... that is until 1.9 comes out. Particles have been completely reworked for 1.9 so as soon as 1.9 comes out the ability to do this would be very cool to have access to! You could make an entire city out of particles and it wouldn't lag at all. (most likely)
