Rejected Possible To Bypass Locked Doors

Basically, I was building a really good medieval house at Auru's town. (Since I recently joined it :D) And I had a redstone torch in my hand trying to unlock the door. I accidentally placed a redstone torch down in front of the door. And it opened since its considered in the redstone category, which is basically bypassing the locked door system. I really want this fixed because Its literally a HUGE glitch that anyone can literally do anytime, and unfairly raid someone. Please fix it when you guys have the chance. Good luck! This isn't really an issue because people not in the town cannot place a redstone torch in front of the door. It's considered placing a block like any other and if you're not in that town, you don't have build perms.

Likewise, if the area in town were zoned for higher-level members, you would also be unable to build there.
 
Oh sorry! Im kinda new to how things work around the server. Its very unique! I'll try to find a REAL glitch/bug in the future... Good luck adventurer !
 
Welcome to the forums Cloudy! Yeah sorry if that confused you yesterday. That's why we have all those redstone torch activated piston doors. Only town members can open them.

Er, that's not the case with my redstone door setup. Agorednocit was visiting, and he was able to activate it by trying to place a redstone torch on the trigger block of a bud switch. I had hoped it would only work for town members, but that's not the case. Somehow, it triggered the switch. It would be awesome if this could be corrected so that outsiders could not activate such a bud switch door mechanism. Otherwise, I have to think of a new raider-proof door design :( .
 
Hmm, I'd like to test that a bit more later tonight. I swear we tested it and anyone outside the town was unable to open the door.
 
BUDs are hacky as is. IIRC their existence wasn't really even intended, but was useful so many people use it. However it is that they work I guess bypasses our checks and due to how Minecraft works I'm not sure I can fix it.

TL;DR If it requires a regular RS torch, should be fine; if it's a BUD, be wary
 
It shouldn't be... I'm not a redstone guy though and I didn't actually make any of our doors... So I'll get back to you on that.
 
Our doors in Auru don't use a bud switch but rather wait to receive the redstone signal from the torch itself. This prevents anyone from accessing the doors who aren't in our town because the pulse created isn't long enough to register in the circuit
