Hey big folks o/
Rivina is a great place! So great, infact, that if you're on Rivina, you sorta just don't want to leave! As we know, if you win the conquest month on Rivina, you're pushed up into the big leagues with the continental capitols of the world on Balak for next month. Knowing this, there are a few big reasons as to why you would limit your chances of winning Rivina:
-Balak is a scary place with scary people-
We know that unless you're coming with an army of 30+ fighters or working alongside one of the two big factions, you're not winning on Balak. You might not even show up. There are almost no examples of all three continent capitols showing up on equal footing without two working together to defeat the other. It's this environment that the Rivina winners have to go. Keep in mind, you had to lose on your own continent to show up on Rivina in the first place, so you're already fighting someone you didn't defeat the month before.
-Free mods, cool terrain, and more lax-
Rivina battles are casual mode. You can get the excitement of a battle without the stresses of losing territory, rebuilding expensive modules, or losing anything substantial. You're also playing against teams that are a little closer to your difficulty level. If you're looking for a stress-free game of conquest that you don't have to spend time building up for, Rivina is the way to go.
-Rivina buffs are just better-
This might depend on the town, but as a small city without stockpiles of supplies, the passive income I get from the islands far outweighs the combat buffs I get from Balak. I don't need a behead bonus cause I don't get kills, I don't need full dura ancient ingots if I can just have way more of them. Why risk grinding blazes with the double mob drop if I can take a single tile and get them free overtime?
The way conquest progression works right now gives non-cap towns the incentive to stay on Rivina, as it's just better. It's so encouraged that even cool and wealthy, well-intentioned towns might consider messing with the conquest mechanic to stay.
I don't have an answer on how to best improve the conquest progression system of Rivina and Balak but I'm hoping some community discussion could bring up a few ideas that we could all look into.
This could be a great time to throw in a game concept that you feel would make Lokan conquest progression more interesting. Share your thoughts!
Thanks for the read -M
