When someone is new to Loka, spawn is very big and it may feel intimidating if you don't know your way around. A lot of people I have recruited get lost or need help getting to places. I use feather client, where I can create waypoints. Even though I have been playing for a while it is still a friendly reminder of where everything is located. Here is an example of some waypoints.

agreed but I think something more visual would be a bit more helpful, tips aren't exactly the best way

Tips, I feel like new players could potentially skim past through, not even realize they appeared on screen or something else, and some people are visual learners and a bold label like Dmacest referenced that tells you how far away a location is and the objective it provides could be useful for new Lokans.
