Suggestion Streamer Mode

Although this may be something that has been suggested a million times over, I would like to suggest how streamer mode might work. I think it could be done through four basic modes:

Staff Streamer Mode

  • Disables ALL warnings, notes, mutes, and other staff notifications.
  • Disables admin chat.

Town Streamer Mode

  • Disables ALL town notifications.
  • Disables town chat.
  • Disables alliance notifications.
  • Disables alliance chat.

Full Streamer Mode

  • Disables locations and coordinates from being shown.
  • Disables chat on your screen (except for DMs you start, or chats that you opt into).

Conquest Streamer Mode

  • Disables ALL chat (except for a possible conquest chat).
  • Gives you the sidebar of conquest fights.
  • Allows you to see ongoing conquest battles.
Another cool idea would be to allow people to setup custom streamer modes, but that may be a bit too complex. Anyways, just thought I'd stick this here for future when this is added.

I honestly think streaming on loka is completely pointless because of how easily recognizable everything is for a veteran. Unless you're exploring the ocean or strip mining, there's no reason to have your coords hidden. Ruins are very easy to identify with the titles that show up on your screen in case you didn't recognize the build style.

For that reason, I don't really see a need for the 0 current Loka streamers (outside conquest) to have an update pushed for them. That said, I think a staff streamer mode would be very nice to have, maybe just a "You have [12] New staff notifications" to keep that stuff private. Opting in and out of chats would be cool as well.

I would agree here that a full streamer mode won't be used for a while, but I think it's a decent option to have lying around in the event that it's needed for something. I think having the options would be nice, and having it be a more configurable/custom system might be better for the time being. The staff one would be a godsend for people not trying to leak stuff and what have you.

The only problem I see with this, is that Loka, is relatively small. If you want to kill someone in the furthest corners of Ascalon, or Garama, then it would be too easy to get to them, 10 minutes with elytras at most. If Loka was bigger, then yes, this would for sure be a great recommendation, but there's no point in expanding the size of continents, it takes away the economic aspect of the game and makes it more of a creative building game.

I can see this being useful for staff, and maybe town people, maybe instead of simply calling it a streamer mode, call it DND Mode, you just have it be a way to opt out of chats, for example local, town, and admin. So when you do stream, you don't reveal locations of Crypt heads. But the coordinates wouldn't even be worth the time, that can be done stream side with relative ease.

Also I agree with FroggyFruit, its wayy too recognizable, oh you see an axolotl? I'll see you in the Marsh very soon pal. Its just too easy too determine locations.

Would like to see a staff streamer mode so then nothing gets leaked and there is nothing at the moment that hides the notes.
