Suggestion Strength Problems!

My problem is there are still some very large problems with strength in Conquest.
Releasing tiles is -25 strength, an unlinked tile is 5 strength lost. A fight won can be 2-3 times more strength than an unlinked tile. A released tile is over 2 times the strength that you would get from winning a fight. The strength associated to strategy in Loka doesn't really make sense and needs to change. This was brought up earlier and was tagged as implement in the future. It needs to be changed ASAP. We need to make it consistent with strength gained for a fight.

linked Tiles only make towns lose 5 strength per tile and given the new strength system this isn't really a difference maker. Unlinks (in a real month) are risky and take a lot of planning and currently, that strategy would help the losing town as 5 strength is better than losing for example 20. IMO the tiles should count the same as if they were being released by the town

THANKS!

This is a gross exaggeration. Yes we want to change unblinking strength gain, no it is not urgent or 'needs to be changed ASAP'. There is a large hit to releasing territory to prevent cheese (releasing your territory so you cannot be attacked when you are ahead). We have a lot of things we are fixing/adding/working on, this is far from an urgent priority.

Why is unlinking 5 while releasing a tile is 25 it makes ZERO sense. 5 Times the strength, Both 1 tile lost.

You can deliberately release territory to prevent anyone from attacking you and is fully within your control. It, therefore, counts as a loss vs a 100 strength town in order to prevent cheese.

Unlinking however is not fully in your control (and your opposition can avoid doing it if they want to maximize the number of tiles they attack) so does not require anti-cheese measures. However, from a tactical point of view, we agree it should be worth more with the current strength values to make things more interesting. Either way, it has no bearing on the penalty for releasing territory.

I understand this, however the problem of releasing in a way to not cheese but be strategic is discouraged. It should be a 15 strength hit to release a tile. I think that is at least a large enough penalty to stop people from using it to cheese but small enough that it can be made up in a situation like this where you do it for an unlink, maybe if unlinks were worth more it could be 25 but the current value of unlinks makes this an obsolete strategy.

It is not a static 25, but if anything it will increase not decrease. As I said we will increase the strength lost to unlinks at some point but it is not game-breaking to miss out on a strategic option, especially when it has worked like this for a long time.

We were at the max number of tiles (30) we needed to claim this tile in order to make it so there is no way they can reconnect their tiles like they could if we neutralized like yesterday. By making the hit so big for releasing it essentially disincentives those strategical plays completely.

Hello Mr. Jakeman5,

I'm glad you have brought this issue up once more as it was not so urgent when Best In The South was getting their tiles unlinked. This is quite the outrage that you may not complete your strategical plays and I would like to provide my condolences on behalf of Sand Force and its members. If there's anything we can do to help your mental state at this difficult time, please feel free to contact us. As an LCR I always bring up issues that I believe should be changed, and I have done it for this very topic! You can view it here, as you know the staff team have already tagged it as a feature they will implement.
