Suggestion-->Fallen towns gens *radioactive* explosion

As far as fallen generators and scavenging them goes i think that a "radioactive" pluggin would be a great addition. When a town falls the gen "explodes" covering all the protection with "poison gas". this poison gas retreats by 5/10 blocks every hour/minecraft day and when you walk into the previously protected zone your oxygen bubbles appear as if you were swimming. The bubbles would then slowly get used up and they steadily increase usage the closer you get to the center of protection. This would allow for fallen towns to be accessible once they are fallen but are harder to scavenge fully within the first few hours to give other people more chances to get to the town.

Discussion appreciated.

This suggestion reminds me if a Yogscast episode of voltz. They were making the nuclear reactor to generate power and it exploded, making the area toxic. The ground was covered in nuclear waste for some time and after a while it turned into mycelium. They had to wear hazmat suits or they would or they would die from radiation poison.

I prefer a cool looking ruined city over a huge whole in the earth

when I was new to loka...love exploring dead cities. Allowing dead cities to remain but look more...ruined only adds to the server

Well my suggestion is not to blow up the place and leave a crater. Just to case the protection to become poisonous(cause you to use breath bubbles) as it slowly withdraws to make it harder for the entire town to be raided within the first day. This is just what i would like to be added when the town is being turned into ruins.

If we were going to do a ruins thing like Crypt recommended, it would have to be a manual process. As it was written, it's too easy to abuse.

I don't recall how though, there were lots of ways to circumvent exploits provided I know what they are.

Although a lot of those previously rare blocks are going to be craftable in 1.8, like mossy stone brick for example. Maybe that's the time to introduce the original town decay idea?
