Implement in Future Suggestions For Server Activities

I was brainstorming about things that can be improved and added to Loka. As we all are aware there is a problem that the server is a heavily PvP based server and this leads to only a large amount of players on when there are fights. I think that if there were some cool things to do in addition to PvP there would be a lot more players online at all times. These things I think could keep people on Loka so that there would be a more constant player base. Also want to note that some of these are ambitious ideas.

More Community Events
  • Building Competition
    • Every so often there is a building tournament where the community can vote on the best builds with
      • Whoever wins gets a Architect title and some other rewards
  • Parkour Race Event
    • Similar to Boat Race where there would be a leaderboard and the race is open for a week
      • Whoever wins gets a Speedster title and some other rewards
Random Events
  • I think it would be really cool if at one point during the day there is a Bountiful Resource Isle. One of the 3 Resource would be randomly selected and for one hour there would be 2x the amount of ores that spawn. This would be displayed in chat for everyone to see.
  • Randomly spawned chests that spawn at specific coordinates that are broadcasted in chat that are a different color that have items
Wasteland Isle
  • Would be a completely different Isle, travel from the docks to the Wasteland Isle
    • Would work like the fishing tourney where you cannot go there unless the event is occurring
  • A place where every couple hours there is loot chests that spawn that would lead to people fighting over the loot
Missions
  • Exploring Missions
    • Examples
      • Go to a certain tile within (time) in order to get a reward
      • Visit a town within (time) in order to get a reward
      • Find a ruin within (time) in order to get a reward
  • Farming Missions
    • A menu where you can choose a couple missions a week
      • You have to farm a certain amount of materials within a time period in order to complete the mission
      • If you complete the mission you get a certain amount of shards as a reward
Invading of Towns
  • If a town does not have 1 active user then another town can attempt to invade them
  • Towns would have protectors that would defend the town from the attackers if they are being invaded
  • The module would be on the outside of the town tile and you would have to kill their protectors and take the charges in an extremely short amount of time in order to get some resources from the towns void storage (if there is any pushback it should be incredibly hard to succeed)
  • If you can successfully invade them you can take a certain amount of a resource that they have (percentage)

Some cool ideas for sure and certainly some of that is in the direction the server wants to move in. Personally, I think the race side objectives and resource gathering challenges are really great ideas just because they're so easily implemented and provide some good NPC quests off the bat.

Moving forward I think PVE quests around spawn are the way to go for sure, even if they aren't competitive (we lose nothing if they are since it's just more repeatable content).

Random events is a great one, the main problem being is that it can be prone to breaking/takes a long time to make these things iirc

I like these ideas! Definitely also agree that with our Yuletide Quest tech some of these basic leaderboard-type quests could be pretty simple to implement and be fun. We're pretty sparing with when we give out Titles (especially since being able to earn tons of things like Titles will come in the future), but no reason to have some cool rewards all the same.

The effort is appreciated, and many things are in the works. We agree that Loka needs more content outside of Conquest.

This is a lot of stuff that I think would be quite cool and is something that I've been interested in getting pushed out for some time now. Having something for people to always be doing is definitely where the server wants to be and will be exciting once it becomes a reality. Adding a bounty to the RI is something me and Lost have spoken privately about before and brought up in a meeting months back, our idea was a KOTH style bounty though. Much of this would likely rely on the PVE team once permament questing is more developed, however is all stuff that could be done. Something I am really keen about that you brought up is the wasteland isle as I could see it becoming a no man's land of PVP as well as a bounty land. The one thing that I am not so certain of in your suggestions is the invasion of towns. I feel it would be quite difficult to implement something like this and I don't think that it would really be worth it to add. It would be quite cool no doubt, however I don't think a feature like this would be needed unless dying towns were around every corner on the server. Overall good suggestions though!

Absolutely, I think that the invading towns was just a reach of a cool idea if implemented correctly. However it would most likely be very difficult to implement like you said.
