Part 1: Overview
Part 2: Lunvari
Viryn's popularity is the greatest of all of the Four, due in large part to his social nature and his association with all sorts of merrymaking. Competitions, parties, festivals, and celebrations of all sorts feel his influence. In some cases, Viryn even attends the gatherings personally, bringing enough kegs of ale to serve every last attendee. At any type of contest, he is known to cheer for - and heckle- all competitors. Rather than granting gifts to followers, which would be too simple, Viryn instead leaves them lying around to be found. His favorite place to leave things, as far as anyone can tell, is the shoreline of any body of water.
Lord Viryn controls the spheres of competition, the hunt, and weather. In terms of raw power, according to Temple teachings, Viryn falls somewhere in the middle, having less power than Lunvari, but more than Sodras and Almia.
Lord Viryn is, by far, the most ostentatious of the Four. In his physical form, he appears as a thin, athletic man with short, dark hair and amber eyes, wearing an intricate white toga with gold embroidery over a red tunic and a crown fashioned from antlers atop his head.
Due to her reclusive nature, not much is really confirmed about Almia's personality apart from what is found in Temple writings, where she is described as self-centered but compassionate. Some who have met her claim she was kind and caring, while others describe her as cold and distant. According to the writings of Lunvari, Lady Almia's true personality is known only to herself, her plants and Lunvari. There is some speculation, however, that this statement is caused by a rivalry between the two goddesses. Unlike her counterparts, she also doesn't grant any type of gifts to the faithful, with a few notable exceptions. Instead, she rewards them with songs of her own composition.
Almia is believed to equal Sodras in strength. She controls the spheres of fertility and the harvest, and is said to be able to raise a plant from a seed in a single night. Though her powers are fairly limited compared to her counterparts, she is still said to hold the belief that hers are the most important, seeing herself as the provider of food and, therefore, life. This, of course, is not entirely true, since food can still be grown without her blessings.
When she appears in her physical form, Almia is considered to be the most human in appearance of all of the Four. She appears as a green-eyed, bronze-skinned woman with long, golden-yellow hair and wearing a flowing green dress with white trimmings.
Sodras, according to Temple teachings, is the Fourth and Final of the Four. He is the most public of the Four, regularly making appearances to watch over the Hands of the Temple, a faction within the Temple dedicated to craftsmanship, engineering, architecture and construction. Considered one of the two guides of the Four along with Lunvari, the pair are believed to have a fairly close friendship.
Perhaps the kindest of the Four, Lord Sodras spends a significant amount of time guiding and assisting the faithful. He is also known to be very generous to those he finds deserving of praise, and grants the most gifts of all of the Four; More than all three of his counterparts combined, in fact. Generosity and kindness do not equate to an unwillingness to be critical, however, a fact Sodras regularly shows in his harsh criticism of the uninspired, lazy and under-performing.
Controlling the spheres of physical strength and labor, he is considered to be the equal of Almia in terms of raw power. Though his power does not manifest in the same way as Lunvari's or Viryn's, it does still prove to be a boon to those who seek his assistance. Many blades have been forged and houses built with a blessing of strength from Sodras.
In his corporeal form, Sodras is by far the largest of the Four, standing at just over 2 meters in height. He appears with dark skin, a long beard and golden yellow eyes. His features, when combined with his impressive stature, make his corporeal form an imposing sight. Placing a great deal of importance on humility, Lord Sodras does not make an attempt to appear in impressive or imposing clothing however, seeming to prefer the simplicity of a plain dark blue belted tunic.
Part 2: Lunvari
Viryn
"Rising to the God's challenge, the man raised his tankard to his lips with a smirk and began to drink. One after another, kegs of ale began to disappear as the two took turns gulping down mug after mug. The man, of course, knew that victory was impossible. After all, how could a mortal out-drink a God? This was just for the sake of revelry."
The Second of the Four, Viryn, is the second oldest and perhaps the most popular of the group. He remains somewhat disconnected from Temple affairs, choosing instead to focus on his own ambitions unless his attention is required. The most social of the Four, he spends much of his time interacting with mortals in one way or another."Rising to the God's challenge, the man raised his tankard to his lips with a smirk and began to drink. Almia
"The Goddess stood in silence in the center of the labyrinth of vines, leaves and blossoms. The group began to step forward one at a time, but their advance was halted by a collection of moving vines suddenly blocking their path. Hanging off of one of the vines, a key dangled before them. Without even granting her guests the courtesy of acknowledgement, Lady Almia began to sing softly and continued tending to her plants."
Almia is the Third of the Four, and believed to be the youngest, even though Sodras was the last to awaken. She is also the most disconnected from the affairs of the Four and the Temple, remaining out of the public eye almost entirely, unless she can't avoid it or has a reason to make herself visible for a time."The Goddess stood in silence in the center of the labyrinth of vines, leaves and blossoms. Sodras
"The bevels of the blade began to take shape with each successive blow. With each strike of hammer against anvil and with each shower of sparks, the blacksmith appraised his work. For hours on end did he toil until finally the blade was formed. The scale was brushed away and the blade quenched. A handle was painstakingly carved and fitted to the tang, a pommel wrought from the finest brass. The weapon now completed, it was brought before Lord Sodras himself. He took the sword in his hand and held it aloft to examine it. 'Tis a worthy blade,' the Lord of Might said simply as he handed it back, 'Wield it well'."
