As anyone from Elysian Pact would tell you, one of the first major conflicts they had was with the town of Utumno and the Valkyrie Alliance.
To delve deep into what caused this war, we can look no further than the creation of the town of Utumno. Utumno was designed to fight Elysian Pact (mainly Valinor which were referred to as the Elves at that point). Utumno was permitted to be created on a false trading agreement stating that the people of Utumno would give very rare resources to Valinor in exchange for permission to settle there. Of course Utumno had made plans to rebel against the Elves long before striking this agreement, and before the creation of the town. When the Elves asked them for the payment that was to be made, Utumno did not respond. A few days later Utumno lead a strike into Elven territory in an attempt to cut them off of the Mushroom Isles. The initial few battles proved a failure for Utumno and they had to pull back advancing armies for fear of a homeland invasion.
Several days later, through diplomatic strain and much debate, Utumno joined the Valkyrie alliance consisting of them, Pavis, Miracalis, and several smaller mountain states. A day before conquest would begin again, war was declared by three of the five members of the Valkyrie alliance against the Elves. The two members that did not declare war were smaller states in the northwestern mountains of Ascalon. Later they would regret this decision as the demands to form under the Miracalis banner became greater and greater.
When conquest started up again, a large Valkyrie force lead by Pavis and Utumno invaded the Mushroom Isles and prepared to fight several large fights. During the time the Utumno joined the Valkyrie alliance, the Elves were busy building up their force and constantly training. They were ready to test out the new and improved army against the combined Valkyrie force. The first major battle resulted in a victory for Valkyrie, but at a huge cost. The Elves had managed to slay over double that of their foe. After several more large battles (that were won by Valkyrie) the Elves finally managed to score a victory against Valkyrie. They used their numerical superiority, which they had gained after exhausting the Valkyrie army, to crush the largely Miracalean force. They learned that they had better skill using archers than trying to face the enemy head on, and continued to use this tactic for some time.
After several weeks of hard fought battles, the Elves finally caught a break. They had managed to deplete their enemies supplies, and had the possibility of crushing a Pavis army and forcing them into a peace treaty. After a large scale battle, the biggest fought so far, they successfully destroyed a large portion of the Pavis army and their ability to fight. This forced Pavis to sue for piece and their King, Steve at the time, to pull his forces away from the front.
With one of the three main towns out of the fight, the Elves found it much easier to destroy the Utumno and Miracalean armies and soon invaded the homeland of Utumno. Utumno, at this point, was lead by a "council" but it really was an Aristocracy with Jammin at the head of government making all the important decisions. When the Elven invaders managed to gain a foothold onto Utumno's island, Jammin knew it was over. He gathered his trusty council and the entire rest of the Utumno military and made an attempt to flea to wheat fields of western Ascalon. They were only able to do this because of a huge sacrifice of the Miracalean military, who made next to no attempt to evacuate and held off the Elves in one last, glorious battle before being crushed and sent packing.
This marked the end of the First Miracalean-Elysian war. It would later gain its' title after a second conflict which also brought along the formation of Elysian Pact. Although the main two towns fighting were Utumno and Valinor, it will be forever known as the first war the Elysia would win. Later on Jammin and the rest of the Utumno army (which was very ready to begin a second war) would go to Miracalis and, after a hasty truce was made, join the Miracalean armed forces as one of the most fearsome fighting units within both the Miracalean army, and the whole of the Valkyrie alliance.
With tensions set high between the Valkyrie alliance and the newly formed Elysian Pact, as well as the absorption of the smaller mountain states into the Miracalean Empire (yes it was an empire back then) it took only a small spark to set off a second war that would see the end of the town of Pavis, and the creation of Firsthold.
