I know it's been a problem lately and I seem to have found a 'fix' that at least dramatically dropped RAM usage on the server by half. I'm curious to know if this makes anybody's experience on the server today better than it has been lately. The one downside to this is what I had to turn off to do it. I had to disable a setting known as save-structure-info which apparently may render nether fortresses, witch huts, and maybe villager towns inert. In some cases they claim this only applies to when 1.7 comes out, so I'm not sure what will be the consequence of this, but please keep me informed.
