Long ago (a year in real life time) a town in the middle of the Mesa of Gararma fell. Who were these people? These were the citizens of The Void. The Void was complex in the way it was founded, governed, and even in the way it died. The Void was one of the first towns (besides the far western border of BHK) to unify the five tribes of the mesa. Now these tribes of the mesa were governed once by a number of people. BHK and Dong Dank were not new. These tribes did not care who ruled them, they were too busy jockeying for local power and seeing who could assemble the largest army. Then, one day, a ship with a bright red sail and what appeared to be a seagull on the bow landed in one of the few ports in the mesa. At first these people seemed peaceful, but soon they moved further in land and established a base within one of the mountains and one of the few fertile valleys.
The tribe that occupied these parts was busy fighting another tribe for control. These pirates forced the remaining people out of the valley and into a different, less fertile one. By the time the tribe returned, the pirates had set up camp and began building a mountain fortress. The tribe was exhausted from a failed invasion and could do little to stop these pirates. The pirates set before the tribe a referendum, to which the tribe accepted. The tribe and the pirates merged into one town and quickly overran then defences to seek a claim to the land. Soon they had to decide on a name for both the union and the town. They both had different ideas, but settled on The Void since they both wanted to sound cool.
Soon the leader of The Void assembled a council of his trusted advisors and a few of the tribesmen. This was the closes thing Void had to a simplistic system of government. Soon, political parties rose in the pirates and the tribesmen and each were given power. This made the system unsupportive. For example: the army was lead by a tribesmen, but supplied and funded by a pirate political party. At first things worked out and this was fine. Void got around and conquered a second tribe in the mesa and added more numbers to it's ranks.
Others unified against them, however. The remaining three tribes of the mesa unified to form Golden Lyfe and fight against The Void. Around this time, however, Dong Dank and the Gararman Federation (TGF for short) brought the remaining territories in the mesa completely under their control, preventing The Void and Golden Lyfe from bordering. Tgf instead allowed both of these towns to join their alliance, and even gave each of them part of the mesa.
This was a grave mistake, seeing as now Void and Golden Lyfe shared a border. For a while the two were willing to coexist, but the ability to was dying down, as the tribes grew and more people occupied the lands. TGF was against faction infighting, but could do little to prevent it. At this point in time they had just finished fighting Lionsrock and conquering the rest of the continent. They're armies were exhausted and TGF itself was a fledgling alliance led by Cincia publicly, but in reality Dong Dank was leading it. Other states like BHK and Cornerstone existed peacefully, and for the most part those portions of the alliance were peaceful.
The slightest thing sparked a war between the two nations (Void and Golden Lyfe) a border dispute over part of a territory. Dong Dank tried to fix it, but it did not work. The Void and Golden Lyfe were now in a state of war. Smaller battles happened here and there, but one giant battle happened right where it all began for Void, in their home valley. The army of Golden Lyfe was strong and easily beat back border guards and garrisoned peoples. All men who could fight were called for the defence of the capitol, and soon enough Void had every last person it could muster fighting. BHK sent some support to Void and this greatly tipped the balance into Void's favour. The battle was long and bloody, but in the end the main Golden Lyfe force was destroyed and Void won the war.
Shortly after, Golden Lyfe was disbanded and the remaining tribes of the Mesa were brought under Void control. However, Dong Dank still owned some Golden Lyfe land it had taken towards the end of the war (support was sent by them to void) and Void requested it back. The Void was then heavily taxed for the war and to build new roads in Gararma. They put in another request to gain the remaining territories, but Dong Dank denied It to them.
The leader of The Void wanted to split away from TGF because of this, but the intense political system brought him many opponents. He dissolved a majority of the government and switched back to a council, which infuriated some. The council was split on the decision, but eventually the decision was made and The Void left TGF. A war soon broke out and Void lost it's land. Many of the tribes went back to their nomadic ways, but some stuck around and decided to join these pirates. Soon the pirates went back to their ship and sailed away to settle a new town, after the old one had fallen. This town would be called Eldia, but enough about that.
Void was complex in ways that cannot be explained, and it shouldn't. All that can be taken from Void is this: never change early, never allow others to govern for you, and never make a decision unless you have full support. Thank you for reading this, I hope you enjoyed, cya all later.
