Not a whole lot to say since I WAS cheating, but I should add to anyone who isn't staff (and wasn't watching me) that they were NOT combat related. My friend (who was banned for the same reason) and I just wanted to explore the continents since everything is so large on this server, so we downloaded a client and used speed hacks in an attempt to explore what we could (we use/d ONLY Optifine when PvPing for anyone who was wondering). I know that hacking isn't tolerated, but despite being frozen, I wasn't brought into discord or messaged or anything in order to explain what was going on. I felt that it would've been better to talk with staff before being banned (considering the cheats we were using were harmless, and solely used for the purpose of exploring), but since I was not given the chance, I decided to make the appeal here.

Important info:

IGN: trippys (his is Colllin)
Ban Length: Two weeks (expires 08/18/21)
Banned for: Speed hacking (first ever punishment on Loka)

If ya need any other info just let me know. If it were shorter I would have just waited it out despite everything, but I honestly just enjoy playing the server with my friend even when we aren't pvping.

there's not really such a thing as harmless cheats even with the most neutral intentions. new players seeing people cheat making them think it's okay and using the hacks to explore areas you couldn't even get to normally both potentially cause harm.

considering how unfair of an advantage cheat clients can bring it's more than generous for these tempbans to be 2 weeks long to serve as warnings.

and yea, the server is huge, but that makes exploring it slowly all the more fulfilling.

Yea I feel you, after all I started the thread off with my admission to cheating. I was just hoping that I would've gotten to talk to the staff who froze me, but I wasn't able to, hence why I made this.

Any and all in-game advantages aren't allowed here, even if not combat related. It's very clear in the rules and talking with the staff before being banned isn't something done because punishment is uniform across bans of the same time, not different per person
 
We appreciate you owning up to the hacking, however we in no way agree with the concept of "harmless hacking". Flying hacks or combat hacks, they're called hacks for a reason and give you an overwhelming advantage on the server that legitimate players do not have.

In our view, if you decide to use hacks, then you feel rules do not apply to you which shows apathy for the server. Personally I can't really get behind the mindset of "I like the server, so hacking is okay".

There would have been no reason to have a discussion about your hacking as there is no defense of using them in our view. It's a 2w tempban, so you'll have to just wait it out.
