Welcome to the official forum for our first official Valley of the Artifacts Tournament! Here will be the forum wherein all discussion on brackets, team registration, format, scheduling, etc are handled.

Please do not use the regular PvP forum for discussion about the tourny, keep that discussion here. You're welcome to discuss talents, general pvp stuff etc there though.

Rumble in the Valley 2014 will take place November 22nd and 23rd (as needed).

About brackets. Basically until we know how many teams we're going to have (roughly), then we can determine both brackets and types of games (group stages, best of 3, 5, etc).

I see you had etc in the ( ) for types of games, but would like to throw in the double-game elimination type as well. Personally I would like a best of (Number of matches) with a double-game elimination set up. This would give people that ability to change up strategies between matches and allow a second chance from improvement after the teams first loss.

Yeah I don't think any games will be single-elimination. We may do something similar to LoL/World Cup and have group stages or some sort of qualifier depending on how many teams we get.

Just saying this as a fleeting thought.... what would you say about making it even more of a game then a tournament. Every member of a team has a (enter custom item name here). to proceed through the ranks in the "tournament" you must find another player and hit them with this item. Then, at a future time the challenging team and the defending team would be the next to battle for both the (enter custom item name here). This would allow for you to be able to pick who you think are weaker and knock them out of the competition while winning more items to stay in the fight longer..... That is..... if a stronger team doesn't find you first.

There should actually be some kind of theme or a little something like short 30 second catchy song before and after matches don't you think Crypt? It'd go well with the streaming

Definitely planning on something like that. There will be lots of great Loka Graphics between matches and whatnot

just throwing it out there... I have a ukulele, a penny whistle,electric guitar, and a zoom H4n if you would like some sound clips/sound effects to piece a custom tune together with any software you may have.

More than likely, RitV will take place over multiple weekends. With some preliminary ideas on what's most likely to happen with teams (late signups, basically), we will likely push Finals and Semifinals probably to a further weekend. Given that the next weekend is Thanksgiving weekend (for the US), it may be a two week delay into December.

Our time estimates thus far are about 5 hours on the 22nd. We probably won't do Sunday, and will instead move the remaining matches to Dec 6th (unless everybody left to play is fine with the 29th).
