What in the world is wrong with people

Seriously guys? I'm calling out all of the admins and everyone else that decided to participate in the events of January 17th when Comp went to go check out a case for grief by majesticalunicorn dude/girl. First thing off the bat I notice: Comp, a sentry, asks for coords so he can walk to check out this situation, while Alch, a Guardian who can teleport, sits back and does nothing. Only when Comp gets there does Alch realize there is a situation, in which everything goes down from there. Instead of helping the victim, you guys went into complete chaos mode. Only after maj got frustrated and used a capital one-word sentence were rules enforced, and he/she was kicked, the situation still left un addressed. To make matters worst, we have Thief running over to kill Comp and Maj, rather than helping out.

Get your act together guys.

EDIT: I just realized that Thief is also an "admin", which makes killing the other admin trying to help even worse.

Thief is an admin by rank but a rule breaker by trade. Alch only enforces rules when it pleases him; I don't know why you're surprised. Hopefully this achieves something but this thread will probably be locked before anything is said.

It's no surprise, it's just a good time to make people aware. It's time for change, maybe another mass demotion as Nouv started a while ago. A real demotion this time, not a 4 day demotion so everyone can reapply to be reaccepted.

Take away log block from sentries. They dont need it and mostly use it improperly. Even if they used it productively, they can only tell higher admins about it, after trudging all the way to the grief site, and wait for the higher admins to make a judgement call. Sentries dont need log block.

Up until you said this I honestly thought you were a noob. Serious words of wisdom though.

I'm not sure I'm in the mental mood to properly reply to anything going on in Loka now without a tinge of anger in my voice. MrAlchemy is just another admin, no more no less. I don't have decision making power, all I have is clout gained from being a good person and helping others on Loka. This situation has nothing to do with me aside from the fact that those who want theft to be a "Scott" free act spoke up vividly when we mentioned "logblock"... Dunnnn dunn DUnnnnnnn!~

I personally don't care for these situations, which is usually why I stay far far away from this stuff. I was only there to converse with comp about the situation. Then all hell broke loose. I was attacked by thief while he was invisible and jailed for retaliating (imagine that, right?).

I think certain players are griefing the overall Lokan experience. I've been building an epic build in creative mode and before just recently Loka always was more entertaining but as of recent I'd rather find myself alone among my own creations than deal with the Mexican Soap Opera bullshit.

Blah. Everyone needs to get their acts together if you ask me.

Everyone has potential to be smart, it just takes some awareness to bring that out in most.

If you don't wish to enforce rules there is nothing wrong with that. I'm sure you would be allowed to step down if you asked.

I'm not sure how much of what myself and Magpie said got through the spam so I will post it here for reference:

In the case of a grief occurring during a raid or soon after, no one involved in the conflict should LogBlock the damage unless it is so major it qualifies for an instant ban of said griefer. If that is the case then pictures should be taken, the name written down, and all information submitted to a Guardian or higher. In cases of minor or questionable griefs no Sentry should ever check who was responsible; they should call a Guardian. When the Guardian checks this minor grief then the name should not be shared with anyone of lower rank. Guardians will sometimes ask for the opinion of a lower rank, but the name should still not be given. If the owner of a griefed area is present and does not wish for a Guardian to LogBlock the damaged area then they may request an Overseer (or Crypt/Mag) to check it instead. All Overseers (+Crypt/Mag) are completely neutral and may be trusted fully.

Now... as far as random griefs completely unrelated to an act of thievery or etc. go... if you can LogBlock you should do so. But you still should still take care with who you share the information with.

Also, if you are a Guardian and this is the town you own or it is your only home town then you may LogBlock at will. Said Guardian may use all powers freely inside their borders except for /jail or if they do not own the town, providing it does not contradict the wishes of the town owner.

FYI: 6-9 blocks is not a grief.

If this post contradicts the statement of a High Admin then the information will be corrected. Otherwise...

*bangs ban hammer*

Going to have to against the ban hammer, I think the rule of LogBlocking at will under any circumstances is crap.

Well ideally the highest admin on should always do the checking.

I didn't say it was, but from what you've said it looks like you don't like a lot of the responsibilities associated with being a guardian. There's no shame in this so if it's true you should retire before your position is put in jeopardy.

Yeah, that's how I would see it. Especially if they can teleport.. and the other can't.

That better?

Why does everyone suddenly want to take logblock away from sentries? It's not like Comp and Alch are gonna do anything with that information. The whole point of an admin is to be above inter-town conflict not involving themselves.

Also people should stop asking for admins to be demoted for almost no reason. Teach them how to do the job properly, don't just throw them in jail or demote.

Ya'll can try and make this a "big" deal but it's just another hiccup. The world goes on.
