Suggestion Wheat in the Barn

I'd like to make a 'quick-fix' suggestion that the barn recognize hay bales for food. They break down to 9 wheat and I assume it would be simple to code it to recognize each bail as 9 wheat, but unsure how the mechanic would work since you'd get 9x(2 to 4) each time it processes.

Is there a way to do this or would it just make the barn way too OP?

It could just turn the bale into 9 wheat, or 9 - whatever wheat it consumes on a process.
