This is White_Raptor. I’m hijacking my brother’s account this one time. I don’t know who banned me within seconds of me posting this comment in “Appeal follow up”, but I hope that a more mature admin will judge what I say now. This is the post that I was instantly permanently banned for hate speech over. Read it critically:

“What a nasty guy.

As for my condition, I was permamuted because I indicated that being gay was disgusting. Which it is; that’s the point. The truth is often hateful - to sinners.

Look, I’m right, and you’re not as intelligent as I am. Unlike you and the other females here, I’m able to evaluate sayre’s position reasonably without being blinded by emotion. I simply felt out the vibes of the thread, read into the subtext, and my intuition led me to side with sayre.

I only said we should wait for an admin to weigh in and called out your office politics. Try not to get so heated.

I don’t know what he said about the jews, but it was probably funny.”

This is satire; in poor taste, conceivably, but certainly not intended as hate speech.

The element that you might call homophobic, well, is the exact same remark that got me muted in the first place. I will apologize for being indelicate on your public forum. Sorry. I don’t want to scandalize the new players. I typed up this post in a few seconds to be bold and make people double-take without giving mind to concerns of hate speech etc. at the time. Historically this has been my fatal flaw, as it were.

Notice that I said nothing hateful of jews.

Before you dismiss me by labeling me a homophobe or an antisemite or whatever, appreciate that you couldn’t possibly know me.

I am banned for this one post, not for whatever abhorrent views you suspect me of holding, and not to prevent me from making hate speech (I'm already muted - it is not possible for me to speak hatefully in any case).

This ban is simply the next more cathartic punishment in line for someone who is already muted. A punishment, I suspect, that has much to do with me criticizing the office politics of the sentry-tier people and calling them self-important and officious. Ironically, instantly permanently banning me with no warning for being ambivalent about jews and gay people demonstrates a high degree of self-importance and officiousness.

My sense of humor has at times been coarse since I first joined Loka as a young child, but I’m not especially hateful. I think the older staff know this.

Above all staff work to keep the server clean and open to all. You've clearly gotten in the way of this via your comments in game, and now on the forums, so I don't think it's in the best interest to unban you.

First you got permamuted for a bunch of reasons such as saying "No Slave languages in public chat" and as you mentioned being disgusted just because someone said they were gay
Second You've already been temp banned for bug abuse

I was muted for my antics in pchat, this is a separate matter. The ban and the appeal only deal with the post I made in the thread "Appeal follow up", quoted above.

For what it's worth, I was ultimately the one that saw what you originally wrote and permabanned you. Lest you worry, I read it critically, though it was a pretty elementary decision as there was no more depth or subtext to it than how it reads initially.

You appear to have a view of yourself you've concocted that you think applies to the rest of the community. In all of the jest, memes, edgy antics, and "coarse behavior", you always deflect by trumpeting that you could not possibly be known by others. Yet, what do we have but your actions and your behavior to judge you. If the majority of your content is homophobic, anti-semitic, and sexist (if we're lucky, we get all three at once from you!), are we all truly meant to shrug it off simply because you are some enigmatic, unknowable entity?

I wonder, this character that you play (but that none of us could possibly know) isn't perhaps a slight extension of your real-world person. Perhaps it is you, in fact, who doesn't know yourself. Or perhaps you are just unwilling to openly admit that you say what you think and you believe what you say.

Jest, in bad taste, is still bad. We don't hesitate to punish Lokans just because they say "jk tho". You, above all else, who seem to put an awful lot of thought and energy into your posts would seem less subject to "i was just joshin' around and I didn't mean it". If your forum posts are meant to be so advanced as to be above all the young kids on Loka, then exactly what are you trying to prove, and and to whom? It seems an inordinate amount of energy to put into a game with a community that you seem to feel so strongly is beneath you.

As for what you feel are insufficient warnings to your behavior, I guess being permamuted for saying exactly the same kinds of things must not have been enough, leaving us the only remaining choice of a permaban.

Perhaps one day in some very distant future, you will grow to a point where you understand how to effectively employ satire, and are able to "give some mind to concerns of hate-speech". Until that time, you and your views have no place anywhere near this community.
