PvE Developer Application

Which role you are applying for: Player vs Entity Developer
Why you think you should become this role: I believe I should become a PvE Dev because I'm an active and an original person on Loka who wants to help give back to the community in any way I can. I feel like I have some background knowledge in the creation of quests and how they should perform, I have played around with town quests before, although I haven't made any official town quests due to it being broken. I believe I should become a PvE Dev as I've made some quests in the past, not using plugins, if although short due to time constraints. I'm able to put together original story lines and am able to create characters, and my ability to design skins has improved immensely. In all, I believe I will be a useful and helpful member in the PvE Department, and help relieve some of the stress on the current developers
Favourite NPC on Loka: Neven as although we never talk, we always get business done
Example of a quest you would write if you were accepted: The player walks to Dhanri, who has a quest for him."Ah! <Player>, nice to see you again!" Dhanri can be seen fidgeting with his non-existent shirt pockets, "Is something the matter Dhanri?" option shows up, "Huh, oh, its not much, Okay that's a lie... Well as you can see, My shirt is lacking pockets, and I really want shirt pockets. But I can't afford to buy a shirt from the market, they're overpriced these days" he says, as a wave of relief washes over him. The players asks, "So, you need a new coat? I'll be back".

The player is then prompted to head to Frodi for the second quest. The player approaches Frodi, Frodi listens to the player and says the following, "So, you want to get Dhanri a new coat? Well, I guess I could let you borrow a pole and go fish a coat up, but remember! Dhanri will only require the most fish-quisite piece of cloth! You must not come back with anything that is just trash!" The player then goes and fishes for a chest-plate, there will be 6 different colors of coats, Blue, Red, White, Black, Green, & Brown. There will be 3 versions of each colored chest-plate, Trash, Decent, and Fish-quisite. Fish-quisite will be the hardest to come across, but will let you finish the quest. The player will fish for a Fish-quisite Coat, then return to Frodi.

"Why hello there Pal, did you find a coat?"
Hands over cloth

"Oh my, my precious! This is, FISH-QUISITE! My Precious Rod caught this? This is lovely! The lines, the color, the tail! It's- PERFECT! I'll get this washed, go visit Lenrith, he can probably help you while I get this settled."

The player heads over to Lenrith, and explains the situation. Lenrith responds "Sounds interesting, so you need some buttons? Well they're gonna cost you bud, but since I feel generous, they will only be 5 LenShards!" "What is a LenShard" asks the player. "Well youngin, a LenShard is my special coupons, I give one out every month to every Aladran in order to foster more business, and they promise 1 free Ancient Ingot once turned in, you don't have any? Well go do some trading!" The player is then prompted to trade with Aladrans across the isles, each of which want some sort of payment, the following will be a list of NPC's the player can interact with.

  1. Lydia
    1. The player goes to Lydia, "What? Are you crazy? I can't live without my LenShard! Its the only way I get books! How about this, if you can get me 5 stacks of completely empty books, I'll trade you." The player accepts then notices Bryan, Byran is seen walking out the library with a bunch of books, the player is then prompted in chat to TAKE THE BOOKS! If the player knocks down Byran when he's out of Lydias Sight, they get 5 stacks of books and the trade occurs
  2. Trader Neven
    1. The player goes to Neven as people sell him items. "Diamonds for Shards! Iron for Shards! Gold for Shards! Come get your useless shar- huh, oh, its this imbecile. What do you need? Can't you see I'm busy? What? Are you insane? I'm not trading you anything that isn't anything short of gems! Oh, you're willing to pay for it? Hmmm, a stack of diamond blocks, that'll teach you rascal! Now get out of here if you don't want to trade!" The player then accepts, and notices Byran heading from the Docks to the library, the player knocks down Byran and takes his materials, and you trade with Neven.
  3. Mereth
    1. The player heads to Mereth, who is as busy as Neven, "Come get your tools imbued! Only 150 orbs! Very cheap! Come on down to Mereth's shop! Le- Huh, oh, Howdy there outa-towner, come to imbue? No? Oh, you want my LenShard? Well, I hope you've got an offer I can't refuse then! 1500 orbs? Alrighty partner, we have a deal!" The player then notices Byran, this time being escorted by Askil, who is armed with an iron sword and some chainmail armor, Byran also seems to be carrying a barrel of orbs. The player goes to Byran and knocks him and Askil down and takes his barrel. The player trades with Neven.
  4. Aladran Guard (in market)
    1. The player heads to the Aladran Guard in the market, the guard hears the players story, and is intrigued "Alright peasant, How about this, if you get me a shulker of diamond swords, I'll trade with you, the armory here barely has enough material for all of us." The player then notices a new person going into market with a couple shulkers (not Byran, new player/npc), the NPC is named Krylian, and he heads over to the weapons chest, the player fights Krylian for the materials, Player takes materials and trades with guards.
  5. Kairin
    1. The player heads to Kairin and makes a deal, he'll give her an elytra, in exchange for a LenShard, the player notices a parade of people walking through town, Byran, in a diamond chestplate, and iron everything else holding an elytra. Followed by Askil wearing full iron armor, and a parade of Guards. The guards have diamond swords, and Krylian is present as well, the player fights all of them, boss fight essentially, and Byran fights back. Kairin watches the whole battle, smiling devilishly at the chaos unfolding. If the player wins, they return to Kairin with the Elytra and the exchange is made.
The player returns to Lenrith with the recently required LenShards. "Wonderful! Thank you sonny! Now I have a slight problem, my lava pipes are jammed, can you fix them for me?"
The player is then sent to a lava maze game, where they have to fix Lenriths pipes in an instanced world. Once they are fixed, Lenrith makes the buttons and gives them to you. The player then heads back to Frodi who by now has cleaned the coat, Frodi installs the buttons, and the player is presented with the jacket. A gold buttoned, (red, blue, white, black, brown or green color go here) jacket is presented to the player with the following qualities, cleaned Fish-quisite Jacket that was tailored by Frodi for Dhanri, with tags made by Byran, who is in a full body cast. The player then goes to Dhanri and offers him the gift.
"OH MY! WHAT IS THIS? A LOVELY JACKET WITH POCKETS? THANK YOU!" Dhanri then gives the player 1500 shards and 300 orbs for completing the quest.

And after all of this, players can keep fishing up jackets to vote which color Dhanri's coat will be in the next update by submitting the fished up jackets to Frodi, and to prevent boredom from creeping in, every now and then a random event, such as zombies will spawn up and the players will have to defeat them to continue fishing. Also in the next update guards get diamond swords, Byran has unique text with the player that is kind of hesitant, but friendly.

Build Team Application

Which role you are applying for: Builder
Why you think you should become this role: I believe I will be a good fit for the Build Team as I'm experienced in building in a multitude of styles, I am willing to work with others, I have a couple of builds under my name, and helped to design multitudes of buildings in Sylvis.
How experienced are you with world edit: Decently experienced with WorldEdit, but much to learn.
What is your favorite build style: Renaissance and Industrial Era, but I am willing to work in all build styles
Screenshots of your builds: The first build was from years ago, so that will explain the texture pack, the first two I built by myself, the rest I helped others with.
1: Tunnels underneath Volterra, unsure if they're still standing
2: Feast Hall for the Sylvan Christmas Special
3: Retaining Wall & Lighthouse in Sylvis
4: Battleship

1.) Fish-quitite! Hilarious!
2.) What the heck did Byran do to deserve this?! Elder-ly abuse!!
3.) Having something ultimately pointless for the players to vote on is a great idea for player engagement.
4.) Though it is just an example quest, and is not official, I don't think random events for Fishing itself to make it more dangerous would be much of a good thing. The coats should be fished somewhere special, and then only there the special events MIGHT occur, but it doesn't seem necessary. Also, is fishing really the best way to get tokens for voting? I get the vote thing is pointless, and fishing is ultimately pointless, but I think there would be a better way.
5.) +1 for PvE Team and Build Team, not just because the quest involved fishing, but you are a creative and friendly person, are a good builder, and I trust what vision you'd have for helping develop the server in the future.

Zacks unite!
