Honestly, the nice thing about reactions is how you can pretty quickly get a general view of what people think of a msg, too many reactions and suddenly that's not as easy to see.
It's also nice to see something that isn't purely a straight-up thumbs up or down, the faces available do let you convey a pretty wide range of emotion.
If the reactions can't quite convey how I feel about a post then that's the point where I'd probably just reply to the post anyway, those emotions are just too niche to justify a reaction emoji.
Would like to see a confused reaction for those times when someone posts something that's difficult to interpret which I've seen happen a bit. Probably a couple of other emojis that might also work super well as reactions but I haven't been able to think of any
I agree, that not too many should be added but at least a couple more that adds to its general usage, because I agree with how it is right now - just looking at a little more wiggle room for the future that makes it easier. Im not suggesting we add 15+ because thats just exessive.
Think of it this way, we only have a thumbs up option but no thumbs down option, and it's widely used. Look at your post reactions lol or any other threat post. I would say at least to add a thumbs down. One of my issues is, we have one but not the other. All I get instead is a mad face or sad face, what if im not mad nor sad but generally don't agree? What if everyone made good points and I still want to submit input? Then that gets into the realm of people just sending in senseless -1s with no elaboration. Now do I think that this will help the issue? Maybe, but im open to more ideas. As you said, it quickly gives people a general view of what people may think of a message. This is all idea generation and no one is saying to remove anything but to add generalities just like how you mentioned a question mark face.
Just like what Foxy said, a dislike would be nice
So far the best ideas seen in my opinion are:
- Question Mark Face
- Dislike Option
I could count on my hands how many times I used a sad face than if I were to have at least two of the options I mentioned above.
I like this convo so far though
