ArcherSquid Ban Appeal #3

My fellow Lokans,

I want to start by taking full responsibility and accountability for my actions. About 700 days ago, I created and participated in an alliance discord that nurtured racist, homophobic, and hateful behavior. I casually dropped hateful comments and slurs along with gifs and images. The only way to explain this discord is as a full n-word discord. The discord was made in poor taste and what took place in it was disgusting. It wasn't edgy or funny, it caused the server harm. This behavior set a horrible example, especially for the younger members of the server, and was completely out of hand. Hate speech is never okay. I would like to sincerely apologize to the community and those involved.

In the time since, I've been focused on becoming a better person. I am on my way to graduating with a higher degree and beginning my career. This journey pushed me to grow and has learn important life lessons. I now understand that the impact that words have on people cannot be understated, and if given another chance, I would contribute to positively to the community rather than spreading hateful comments for validation. While I can't take back what I have done, I hope that anyone who was part of that discord has also had the chance to reflect and changed for the better.

In my previous appeal, I've mentioned my actions after my rightful ban, but I want to be absolutely clear they are not excuses for my previous behavior. I strongly feel that I have turned a new leaf and I would appreciate the opportunity to prove that to the community that has had a big impact on my childhood. Through my actions, I have betrayed the trust of the community I was once part of and I understand this is not an easy thing to gain back.

Thank you for taking the time to read and consider my appeal.

I've gotten the privilege of speaking with "ArcherSquid" on discord today for about 3-4 hours. He seemed like he has sincerely changed. He was talking about how much has changed since his ban, personally and online. On his first appeal I did say he did not change and I meant what i said when i said it. I do however think he has changed now. +1 I believe in second chances.

+1 archersquid was on when there was 7 ppl online and everyone was hating the pvpers he held his ground... keeping archersquid banned would the result of endgame covenant bias... we know who has the problems with archersquid and it isnt the loka community..... 👀👀👀👀

I said it before, and I'm going to say it again: his ban was one that had been in the making for ages. I reported this countless times, just to have Admins say his vile and revolting behavior was perfectly okay and moral, seeing as it was posted in town/alliance chat. He was only banned as part of a PR stunt to make Loka seem "family-friendly" after the sudden influx of new players.

With that said, -1 on account of being an extremely toxic, racist. However, +1 because his ban was just a PR stunt, and I find that kind of scummy on the Admins' part.

Since Archer's ban, he has undergone a real and noticeable transformation. He’s become significantly more thoughtful, self-aware, and responsible in how he interacts with others.
In recent Discord conversations, the contrast is genuinely night and day. He now speaks with actual respect, listens to what people are saying, and contributes to conversations in ways that are constructive rather than inflammatory. Almost as if he actually flipped a physical switch.

During this period away, he’s directed his energy toward meaningful personal growth: serious self-reflection, learning about social dynamics and systemic issues plaguing his community, and intentionally developing healthier online habits. The result is visible and not just in his behavior, but in the stronger, more positive relationships he’s building and in his clear commitment to helping create welcoming, inclusive spaces instead of disruptive ones.

I hope you give him the chance to show that he has changed for the better.
