Ban Offense: Illegal Mods / Refusing SS / Compromised Account
Ban Date: December 1st 2024
Dear Loka community and staff team,
Me (Bellvey) and my little brother (p4wn) have recently been banned because I refused to download a program that would share my screen.
I am deeply sorry for my actions and did not realize this would also result in the ban of my brother and will go over why I believe our ban should be looked over.
Since I was never told exactly what I was banned for, I'm unsure what I did wrong but can guess it was because I was using fabric. My parents computer has never been the greatest so I've been installing and testing different performance mods (such as Fabulously Optimized) to see if it would help at all. One of these mods allowed me to disabled the server side resource pack, which if this is against the rules and this is what I was banned for I'm sorry. I know I should have checked before hand, but I just didn't think I could get banned for something like this, and it's entirely my fault. I may have also been banned for my laggy connection as I have been banned from another Minecraft PvP server (Hardcore if anyone used to play), but I think this is unlikely since I didn't lag all that much the day of the ban.
This appeal is primarily for my brother because I understand what I did was wrong but don't understand why my brother has to suffer for my crimes. He really enjoyed playing on this server and probably has close to 10x my hours on here. The elders argued that I could "go over to his pc," and while I understand their logic, he has a password, and I would never steal his login credentials. I am also preparing for college, studying for my midterms, and training for the upcoming track season, so I sadly no longer have time to play with the community. My brother, however, still has time left in his childhood, and I would hate to be the one who got him banned for the rest of his high school years. While I'm extremely busy with my AP classes and everything mentioned before, his grade level is much easier and he isn't as active in school as I am. If anything, I'm begging you to look at this appeal just for him as he still has some time left to be a part of this wonderful community (I genuinely have not met nicer people online anywhere which is why I stayed on the server even though I suck at pvp).
While I understand the rules, I found it a little unfair that I would have to download a program (AnyDesk) that would allow someone to control my PC and would have felt a lot safer using a program such as discord's screen share. I don't think the elder would have done anything bad, but I saw AnyDesk being used for negative things online when I googled it and this is my parents computer so I can't risk installing any maleware.
For the staff members who are aware of me and my brother antics, I'm sorry for everything we've done, but we've always tried to learn from our mistakes and not commit anything again.
I don't planned on getting banned anytime soon as I was only banned recently and from what I did, I understand if the community and staff doesn't trust me. For the sake of my brother, please just consider this appeal. He hasn't really talked to me since and seems to get annoyed whenever I start a conversation with him. I think it's a little crazy that this situation resulted in us both being banned and hope that in the future we may be able to play with each other again, replicating the fun times we had.
Sincerely,
Bellvey
