Hello Lokans. As of recently, I have been banned for Exploit Abuse (under the form of duping). My IGN is Blissterz

I do not believe that the way of which I duped should result in a permanent ban and instead believe I deserve a temporary ban of 2-3 months. Before I explain why I believe I should gain a
lighter punishment, let me give you a timeline of events so that you can understand my POV of the situation.

Back in April 2022, when I found the dupe, I was trying to put a lored sword on the marketplace when it accidentally duped as I was trying to put it up for sale. To test if this was a visual glitch or not, I tried it again and when I saw that it was in fact an actual dupe I instantly /reported it. In my report I said "i accidentally duped with the market system" and after a month or two, Marioistrash marked the report as a bug. In June of this year, I tried the dupe again to test whether staff had patched it or not. It turns out that they did not patch the dupe and so I burnt the diamonds in lava at the nether. I understand in this situation that I should have /reported the diamond blocks and placed them inside a chest for staff to collect them but I did not know this at the time. A month or so had passed and believing that they had patched the dupe I deleted the report. The day after I deleted my report, I was permanently banned for
exploit abuse.

Now that you know the full story from my perspective, this is why I believe I deserve a temporary ban instead of a permanent ban.

Firstly, I never kept any of the items that I had duped and I had never intended to mess with the economy or the server overall. If I had I believe this would be a much more serious offense.

Secondly, these dupes were extremely minor and did not affect the Loka community at all, especially due to the fact that I deleted the items.

Thirdly, I /reported the dupe as early as April but I stupidly deleted it a few days ago. I did not intend to harm the community and tried to alert staff.

+1 From this timeline of events you can clearly see it was an accident. The report he made shows he didn’t have malicious intent overall but I believe it should still be a couple months because he tried it again in June without asking staff or notifying them he’d try. 100% not a permanent ban though.
 
huge +1 he wasnt trying to hide the dupe
he got rid of the duped items so not to effect the eco but also he had reported it in early april him being banned right now for deleting a report that has been around for months seems atrocious
 
i think this was a result of confusion on what one is supposed to do when they discover a dupe. blissterz seems to have discovered the dupe, reported it and then forgotten about it until he was reminded of it when his report was marked as a bug by staff. blissterz then probably assumed that that means the dupe had been patched or was being patched, so he decided to try it again and when it did work, he disposed of the items since he did not want to be in possession of any illegally obtained items. this was a massive mistake from his end as he did not report the items and instead just disposed of them, which might have incriminated him in the eyes of staff as trying to cover up his actions. blissterz did not have proper understanding of the reporting system and assumed that since it had been a while and the dupe was marked, it was being worked on and so he made another mistake where he deleted the report instead of waiting for staff to mark it as resolved. i think this shows he was more clueless on what to do in this situation rather than the fact that he had any ill intentions, since if he did he would not have disposed of all duped items, and would not have reported it. i believe as a result his ban should be shortened to a temp ban since i believe staff misunderstood the deleting of the report and disposal of the duped diamonds as an attempted coverup, rather than simple lack of knowledge on how the report system works and what one is supposed to do with duped items (inform staff and have them taken away). +1
 
+1. I think they should give you some response for the report, like if it is going to take a long time or not to be fixed.
I've had a ticket in 2 month and i still don't know if they are even trying to fix it or not. (1 time all of my reports even got deleted)
 
I dont understand why you would randomly try to dupe again its not like anyone gives a damn if it got patched or not after a few months so to me thats just really an excuse and there might be another reason behind it.

i think it was curiosity you are making assumptions about someone you havent spoke to

If you knew to report the dupe the first time

You're contradicting yourself here, by saying you didn't know it at the time, months later from your previous report.
